Chapter 404

    ?Chapter 404:

Could he truly not make her stop, or did he choose not to? Carole, upset, bit her lip.

She looked at the guys nearby. “Can you help break them up? Don’t let it get worse!”

Two guys started to step in.

However, Kaiden positioned his wheelchair in front of them and waved his hand, signaling them to stop in their tracks. “They will handle it on their own,” he said.

    “Handle it on their own?”

    It was obviously Ellie attacking!

But since Kaiden said so, the guys were reluctant to get involved.

After all, it’s not right for men to step into a fight between women. Carole’s jealousy surged as she watched Kaiden, convinced he was showing favoritism towards Ellie.

“Kaiden, Miss Gordon’s getting too emotional. This could end badly for her.” She was worried about her friend and looked to Kaiden for intervention.

But Kaiden just watched Ellie, unbothered. “She’s aware of what she’s doing.”

She was aware of what she was doing? Ellie was holding a fork threateningly close to Aphrodite!

Carole’s anger red at Kaiden’s nonchnt remark.

“Ellie, remember I’m engaged to Quincy. If you harm me, he won’t overlook it!” Aphrodite warned, teeth clenched.

“Come on, Quincy means nothing to me, not like I’m Baylee.” Ellie chuckled. “Actually, Quincy’s not important to Baylee anymore either.”

“I stand by what I said. Baylee is really just…”

“Cut the chatter about Baylee, Aphrodite. Just a friendly tip.” Ellie’sment was followed by a loud nging sound.

With a fierce gesture, Ellie mmed the fork into the tablecloth next to Aphrodite’s face. The fork embedded itself in the cloth, leaving behind holes, and then tilted toward Aphrodite’s face. It sent shivers down her spine. Aphrodite quickly retracted her aggressive words toward Baylee, overwhelmed by fear. She slumped over the table, looking drained.

“Sorry to crash your party, Miss Lambert,” Ellie remarked, releasing Aphrodite without any sign of regret. “Looks like your friend could use somefort. I’ll leave you to it.”

Carole hurried over to Aphrodite’s side, not ready to let Ellie off easily. She hissed, “Miss Gordon! This whole thing involves Aphrodite, Miss Curtis, and Quincy. Isn’t it inappropriate for you to interfere? You were pretty tough on Aphrodite just now. Don’t you owe her an apology?” Ellie couldn’t suppress a chuckle at Carole’s indignant tone. Even with her sarcastic edge, her beauty was undeniable.

“You’re wrong about one thing, Miss Lambert. Baylee and Quincy have nothing to do with each other right now.” She paused, then added, “And as for apologizing? I’ve made my move. Do you really think I n to say sorry?”

“Ellie, you are going too far!” Aphrodite snapped back, her face turning red with anger. She felt braver now that the immediate threat was gone.

“Miss Watts, I was talking to Miss Lambert. Isn’t it inappropriate for you to interfere?” Ellie threw Carole’s own words back at Aphrodite before turning to Carole. “What do you think, Miss Lambert?”

Aphrodite was at a loss for words. Carole nervously bit her lip and gripped her dress, trying hard to stay calm.
