?Chapter 366:
Cecelia, the person she once knew and respected, now felt like a piercing de in her heart. What she was doing made each breath an arduous endeavor. If Demi, as her blood rtive, meant more to Cecelia, what significance did she hold?
Observing Ellie’s silence, Demi wore a triumphant expression, while Litzy, positioned at the door, let out a mocking chuckle. The issue wasn’t raised directly, indicating a prearranged scenario where Cecelia yed the mediator. Demi was uninterested in pretending niceties toward Ellie, which exined her earlier absence.
“I must leave; other obligations require my attention.” Ellie wanted to leave without further dy.
“Ellie, you can’t go! You haven’t given your consent!” Demi obstructed her path, determined not to let Ellie leave until school matters were resolved.
“Ellie!” Cecelia’s tone pressed for her agreement.
Ellie closed her eyes, wrestled with her trembling fingers, and took a deep breath to regainposure. “I… I’ll find a solution.”
Demi scorned Ellie. “Quite the honorary alumna, wielding influence and connections.” She was subtly alluding to Ellie’s abuse of privilege.
“Hey, Ellie, are you leaving so soon?” Houston frowned upon seeing Ellie hastening away. He had hoped to maintain a good rtionship with this exceptional foster daughter.
Litzy restrained Houston, who was attempting to keep Ellie, stating, “She has other pressing matters to address.”
“Will she assist Demi?” Houston inquired. “If she’s unwilling, don’tpel her.” Otherwise, reconciling Ellie’s connection with the Gordon family would be more challenging.
“Certainly, she will,” Litzy contemted with a concealed sneer. She believed she was the sole genuine caregiver for Demi in this family. She wasn’t oblivious to Houston’s attempts to win over Ellie.
Ellie wandered aimlessly on the street, engulfed by the impact of Cecelia’s recent actions and words. The umted pain evolved into a state of depression, a heavy burden on her chest, impeding her breathing.
Abruptly, Ellie yearned to meet Kaiden. Retrieving her phone, she scrolled to Kaiden’s contact.

Ellie hesitated before dialing Kaiden’s number. She feared she might be interrupting his work, and in her downcast mood, she didn’t want to return home. Instead, she decided to visit Rich Bar.
It had been a while since she had seen Baylee, so she gave her a call to see if she’d be interested in meeting there.
“Sure, I’ll be there soon,” Baylee replied, though her voice sounded tired and troubled, as if she had been through a difficult time.
An hour passed.
The door to the private room opened.
“Baylee, I—” Ellie stopped mid-sentence when she saw the tall man entering with her.
He stood tall, with fine features that exuded an inherent pride. Though he tried to blend in, his presence was unmistakable. Hisposed demeanor was matched by strikingly captivating eyes.
Marvin’s appearance was everything people had described him as: elegant, ruthless, low-key, and noble. These qualities reflected in his mannerisms, his approach, his style, and his very essence.
