Chapter 251

    ?Chapter 251:

… tea. “What are my thoughts about it? I haven’t been thinking about anything,” Edwin replied, his voice tinged with defiance. “And how is she Kaiden’s woman? They aren’t married.”

Araceli was amused. Her son had unexpectedly made a valid observation. “They are married,” she informed him.

At this, Edwin’s head shot up, and he stared at Araceli in astonishment.

Not wanting anyone to disturb her, Ellie nestled into a quiet corner, engrossed in her phone.

A post from someone named YANG on Instagram caught her eye. It featured an Indian mask thatcked aesthetic appeal. The apanying caption read: “Crafted by Mr. Thorpe. Blissful vibes.” YANG turned out to be Carole.

Suddenly, a wave of absurdity washed over Ellie. She felt utterly ridiculous.

She had specifically hinted to Kaiden about desiring a handmade Indian mask. If he couldn’t manage that, a simple gesture like grabbing some maple tea would have sufficed.

But what was the oue? He went ahead, crafted a mask, and handed it to another woman. He simply didn’t have the time for her, but she clung to her expectations like a drowning person clinging to a lifebuoy.

    How preposterous!

Kaiden had offered her some perks. Why had she presumed entitlement? It felt as though a wad of cotton had lodged itself in her throat, choking her heart, and rendering her breathless.

Ellie spiraled down a rabbit hole of emotions. She decided to swap her juice for champagne, ready to drown her vexation.

But Kaiden intervened, sping her wrist. “Do you aim to get stered at someone else’s party?” Even from his wheelchair, he managed to exert amanding presence. Once Ellie regained her senses, she reluctantly set the ss down. Drinking in a setting like this wasn’t the wisest choice, despite the strong urge.

Kaiden, satisfied with herpliance, held her hand and gently traced his fingertips across the back. “Mrs. Thorpe, who ruffled your feathers?” he inquired.

    .cóm is the source

“No one,” Ellie retorted, turning her face away, fearing that meeting Kaiden’s gaze would unleash her pent-up emotions.

Kaiden tightened his grip, causing a pang of pain. She turned to face him, fury in her eyes.

“You’re hurting me. Let me go!” she demanded.

Kaiden gestured for her to speak. He wasn’t releasing her without an exnation.

Little Waltzes yed live in the background as he sat in his wheelchair, holding her hand. She stood there, seeming to have a tantrum, turning her head slightly to the side.

Their silence spoke volumes, and the onlookers sensed an intimate connection.

Unbeknownst to Ellie, the guests observed them keenly. Kaiden, on the other hand, remained indifferent.
