    Edwin was all dressed up today, a sharp contrast to his usual casual attire. He wore a suit and styled his hair neatly.


    “You… You’re wearing the hairpin I gave you!” Edwin noticed, his eyes sparkling as he saw the Chanel hairpin in Ellie’s hair. Trying to contain his excitement, he added, “It looks beautiful on you.”


    “You have an eye for style,” Ellieplimented.


    She remembered Edwin saying that if she didn’t wear his gift, it meant she didn’t care for it.


    “Are you here by yourself?” Edwin asked, not seeing anyone else with Ellie.

    Kaiden, seated in his wheelchair, was a meter away from Edwin. His expression was icy, revealing no hint of emotion.


    “Kaiden,” Edwin remarked, noticing the tie Kaiden wore. It was royal blue twill,plementing Ellie’s dress perfectly. That’s when Edwin realized he had acted too hastily.


    Kaiden gave a nod and extended his hand to Ellie. “Come here.” Ellie, sensing Kaiden’s annoyance, approached him. She hesitated for a moment before cing her hand in his, which he quickly grasped.


    “Did you give Mrs. Stephens her gift?” Kaiden inquired of Ellie.


    She nodded in affirmation.


    Kaiden’s gaze fell on the Chanel pearl hairpin in Ellie’s hair. “Did Edwin give you that hairpin?” he asked.
