?Chapter 234:
Most husbands would feel insulted being stashed away by their wives as though they were part of an affair.
Ellie rolled her eyes. The issue wasn’t whether they were legally married.
“If you don’t hide, I won’t let you stay here,” Ellie threatened him.
Resting against the bathroom door frame, Kaiden let out a mocking sneer. Did she genuinely believe she could keep him out of her room?
“Mr. Thorpe, I’m begging you. Please. I can’t face the chatter and stares of our colleagues as soon as I step into the crew area.” Ellie sped her hands and bowed.
Her voice always grew softer when she pleaded, and her eyes seemed even more charming, full of trust in him. By some stroke of luck, Kaiden nodded.
Once she shut the bathroom door, Ellie cautiously opened the front door and found… Bruce standing there.
“Good morning, Mrs. Thorpe.” Holding a wooden lunch box, Bruce said, “I’ve brought breakfast for both you and Mr. Thorpe. I also need to pick up the documents Mr. Thorpe approved… Why are you looking at me like that, Mrs. Thorpe?”
Ellie, relieved, responded, “Oh, it’s just you, Bruce.”
Bruce looked puzzled. “You… Who else were you expecting? And where’s Mr. Thorpe?”
“He’s in the bathroom right now.”
“Well, you can hand over the documents from his desk. He said they’re all signed off.”
Once she handed the documents to Bruce, Ellie carried the breakfast inside and set it up.
Ellie waited for a bit, but with Kaiden still in the bathroom, she finally knocked on the door. “Mr. Thorpe, have you moved in there?” The bathroom door opened from the inside.
Kaiden, resting against the doorframe, asked, “Mrs. Thorpe, didn’t you say I shouldn’t meet anyone?”
Ellie noticed the look of displeasure on his face, showing signs of both usation and discontent.

“I didn’t realize that was Bruce,” Ellie admitted, feeling a bit guilty. She noticed Kaiden standing frozen, so she gently took his hand and led him out of the bathroom. “We should eat breakfast before it gets cold.”
Kaiden looked down at their intertwined hands, feeling the softness of her touch. It lifted his spirits.
Suddenly, there was a series of knocks at the door. Ellie had just finished her bread when she heard it.
“Did Bruce forget something?” she muttered to herself, heading to the door.
Opening the door, Ellie was stunned.
“Ellie?” Susanna was left utterly speechless as well. She caught sight of the man seated at a small table just behind the door and stumbled over her words. “Is that… Aren’t you… You and he… I…” Susanna was stunned. She pointed at Kaiden, then herself, and finally at Ellie, but words failed her.
