    But before she could take a step away from the bed, she was yanked back into Kaiden’s arms.


    “I’mte!” Ellieined.


    “You’re off this morning,” Kaiden murmured, his voice a little raspy.


    He was a light sleeper by nature and could function on just four hours of sleep a day. The only reason he had stayed in bed these past few hours was the soft woman curled up beside him.


    He took a deep breath, inhaling her unique scent, and closed his eyes. Last night had been pure bliss.


    Still unconvinced, Ellie grabbed her phone from the nightstand. Joseph had sent a message saying that he would be lecturing the lead actors for the first half of the day and had asked the makeup team to rest in the meantime.


    The message had been sent around midnight. Something didn’t add up. Why the short notice?


    After staring at her screen for a moment, she heard Kaiden mumble, “I asked him to send you that message.”


    Ellie’s face scrunched up, both shocked and outraged.


    So, that was why he hadn’t let up on her until the early hours of the morning. He had already known she didn’t need to get up for work!


    Regardless, Ellie’s supposed partial rest day was now wasted. It was already half-past ten.


    She grew limp in his arms, resigned to her fate. Then she recalled their argument and subsequent reconciliation, and a strange emotion rose in her heart.


    For some reason, she felt as though they had grown closer.


    Less than an hourter, Kaiden was dressed in his suit again, returning to his usual cold demeanor.

    “Kaiden,” Ellie called weakly from the bed. “I don’t have any clothes to wear.”


    He had torn her dress, and it nowy in pieces on the carpet of the suite’s living room. “Wait here.”


    Kaiden walked out of the bedroom. When he returned a minuteter, he was carrying a red cashmere dress and a set of underwear.


    Ellie gasped, her face instantly turning red. “You didn’t ask Bruce to get these, did you?” If he had, she might never be able to face Bruce again. She would be too embarrassed!


    Kaiden clicked his tongue and narrowed his eyes at her. “What do you think, Ellie? Am I the type to let another man buy my own wife’s undergarments?”


    “But you let Bruce do everything for you,” Ellie grumbled internally. “He’s always stuck to your side. You didn’t even care that he was there when you kissed me! I wouldn’t put it past you to make him buy my underwear.”


    Kaiden set the clothes down on the bed. Ellie moved to sit up, only to feel a distinct ache between her legs. Truth be told, she ached everywhere. If she didn’t know any better, she would have thought she had been hit by a bus.
