Chapter 186

    ?Chapter 186:

After about ten minutes of silence, Ellie finally spoke. “Well, there’s no real issue with Harry managing both the Rich Bar and our milk tea shop.”

Kaiden’s chuckle was low and brief, so fleeting that Ellie thought she might have imagined it.

Just as she was about to question what had amused him, his fingertips brushed her chin lightly, like one would yfully stroke a cat.

“You little liar,” he teased. “Keep making up stories.”

Ellie, puzzled by being called a liar, hesitated several times before speaking. She couldn’t find the right words to defend herself.

Kaiden spoke slowly. “You visit the Rich Bar at least three times a month: at the beginning, middle, and end. Yet, regrs barely see you there, which suggests you have a private room. But the Rich Bar doesn’t offer exclusive personal rooms.”

In the Rich Bar, there was no such thing as a private room exclusively for personal use—except for Ellie and Baylee, if they were indeed the proprietors.

Ellie hadn’t expected that Kaiden was still investigating the Rich Bar.

Given these circumstances, her efforts to hide the truth seemed futile. “Yes, Baylee and I own the Rich Bar. That foundation is merely a front for funds we’re involved with because we prefer anonymity. So, don’t bother trying to confront me with ims that you bought the bar for me,” Ellie said, seemingly ready to abandon her caution.

    Kaiden raised an eyebrow.

She realized he had been testing her earlier.

He had always found intelligent women more appealing.

Ellie had even taken care to distance herself from the Rich Private Foundation.

The Rich Private Foundation, with its global investment ventures, was a formidable entity. Some spected that it was merely an investment tool for international businessmen. Yet, it couldn’t be ruled out that the foundation served as a front for something else.

“What are you staring at?” Ellie asked, feeling somewhat embarrassed as Kaiden remained silent. Her embarrassment seemed only to strengthen her resolve. “We’re just trying to earn some quiet pocket money.”

Kaiden recalled the Rich Bar’s substantial monthly revenue and profits. Yet, Ellie didn’t disy the extravagance typical of those with a million-dor monthly allowance.

Without probing into her expenditures, Kaiden inquired, “Is your pocket money sufficient?”

Ellie expected him to use her of deception, but instead, he seemed concerned about her finances.

“It’s adequate,” she replied. Herb expenses were high, so she didn’t live extravagantly.

“You haven’t used the supplementary card I gave you,” Kaiden noted. The supplementary card, linked to his primary one, would notify him of any usage.

Ellie remembered using his card to scratch off an anti-counterfeiting code but was savvy enough not to disclose this to him.
