    Ellie gazed stiffly at Kaiden.


    Kaiden gazed at Ellie with a calm expression. He tapped his finger intermittently on the armrest of his wheelchair, his emotions unreadable.

    Ellie stopped trying to argue.


    Outside the police station, Bruce waited with a document for Kaiden to sign.


    “Miss Curtis, we’ve arranged a car for you. Someone will escort you home safely,” Bruce informed Baylee.


    Ellie was concerned about Baylee traveling alone. Thankfully, Bruce’s arrangement was perfect, and Ellie bid Baylee farewell.


    “Bruce, how did you know Baylee was with me?” Ellie asked, surprised that Bruce had prepared an extra car.


    “As soon as Mr. Thorpe and Inded, we learned you and Miss Curtis were at the police station, so we hurried over,” Bruce exined, not expecting to find Ellie, who usually seemed well-behaved, in a situation requiring bail. Ellie blinked in surprise.


    Had her call to Kaiden gone unanswered because they were flying? Yet, the scandals surrounding Kaiden and that photo were undeniably real.


    “Tonight, Demi and Erick were at the Rich Bar. They shed with Mrs. Thorpe and Miss Curtis, leading to a fight,” Bruce reported to Kaiden as soon as he found out what was going on.


    “We didn’t start it. They were the ones causing trouble,” Ellie rified, not wanting to be med. Kaiden shot her a cold look.


    Ellie fell silent, her mood sour. She couldn’t deny that Kaiden had helped her out of the police station.


    “I need to handle something at thepany. I’ll head back to the group’s building. The driver is waiting,” Bruce said, addressing Ellie.

    Kaiden nodded, signaling Bruce to leave.


    Ellie noticed Kaiden getting into the back seat of the Maybach, not apanying Bruce.


    “Aren’t you busy today? Bruce is going back to thepany. Don’t you need to be there?” Ellie asked as she joined Kaiden in the car.


    “Mrs. Thorpe, you’re capable of earning your own money. You don’t need so much from me,” Kaiden remarked, turning to face her.


    Ellie was at a loss for words. Was he mocking her? No matter how sessful her Rich Bar was, it couldn’tpare to his GT Group.


    As Ellie looked out the window, a hand suddenly grasped the back of her head, forcefully turning it to face Kaiden. His gaze was intense.


    “Ellie, don’t you have something to exin?” he demanded.


    The driver maintained a facade of obliviousness, driving the Maybach smoothly toward Moon Manor.
