?Chapter 131:
Suspicious, she asked, “What are you nning?”
He remained silent, his gaze intense andpelling.
Reluctantly, to avoid further dispute, she slipped on her shoes and approached.
Without a word, Kaiden handed her the hair dryer.
He intended for her to dry his hair. “You pretend that your legs are injured, but your arms work fine,” Ellie murmured, holding the hair dryer.
Kaiden, with a subtle smile, queried, “Mrs. Thorpe, shouldn’t you take the initiative to attend to my needs?”
Ellie gazed at him, her expression clouded with confusion for a few moments. Her eyes then widened as she realized where she had heard that before. She understood what he was trying to say. His disability meant that she had to be the one to take the initiative to attend to his needs, even in bed.
This recollection brought her back to the day after their wedding when he had used simr words to belittle her, expressing his wish for her to leave Moon Manor on her own volition.
“Mr. Thorpe, no offense, but your solitary lifestyle before wasn’t solely due to your ‘leg issue,’ was it?” Ellie remarked, hinting at his bluntness.
Seemingly unfazed by her insinuation, Kaiden closed his eyes, awaiting her to dry his hair.
Suppressing her annoyance, Ellie began to dry his hair. Despite his often tough demeanor, his hair was unexpectedly soft. This was Ellie’s first time drying a man’s hair. The novelty of the task gradually piqued her interest.
Kaiden, enveloped in a light, milky fragrance, felt an unusual sense of calm.
“It’s dry now,” Ellie affirmed, checking his hair with her fingers. As she touched his scalp, Kaiden felt a surprising surge of sensation, his gaze intensifying.
Ellie set aside the hair dryer, only for Kaiden’s hand to suddenly cradle her face.

Caught off guard, Ellie instinctively followed the gentle force, turning her upper body.
Suddenly, Kaiden’s face loomed close, filling her view. Their lips were mere inches apart. As the tip of his tongue grazed her teeth, Ellie’s eyes widened in shock.
Releasing Ellie, Kaiden gazed into her misty eyes. “You have beautiful teeth. Would you show them again?”
His knowledge that she had just bared her teeth to him baffled her. How did he know?
Ellie pondered in confusion. Kaiden’s overt and casual intimacy had just made her ears flush a light red. Hesitant, she was not keen on easily revealing her teeth to him again. This man seemed to have eyes on the back of his head.
The events of the previous night hadn’t allowed Ellie tofortably adjust to the idea of sharing a bed with Kaiden. Particrly when he slid under the covers, she sensed the temperature within them rise by a couple of degrees.
Kaiden’s presence was unmistakable, marked by a uniquely assertive aura.
In the next moment, he wrapped his strong arms around her waist, gently pulling her back towards him.
