Chapter 113

    ?Chapter 113:

    Kaiden’s chuckle broke the silence.

    Ellie’s duplicity amused him.

    “Ah!”

Suddenly, she felt herself lifted off the desk. Kaiden had picked her up.

“My bathrobe…” she said, one arm around his neck while she reached for her robe with the other.

The distance from the study to the bedroom wasn’t short.

Kaiden seemed unconcerned. “No one will dare look at you.” The staff wouldn’t venture upstairs without his permission.

“I want my bathrobe! What if…” What if someone saw her? What would they think? Did he not have any shame?

Kaiden, seemingly indifferent to modesty, wrapped his coat around her and carried her out.

Clutching the fabric to her chest, Ellie appeared nervous, as if fearing she was doing something wrong.

When he didn’t stop at her room, she queried, “Are we… going to your bedroom?”

“Would you rather we use yours?” Disdain was evident in his tone.

Ellie’s room, a secondary bedroom, couldn’tpare to Kaiden’s master suite.

“I just thought you wouldn’t want anyone in your room.” Lowering her gaze, she noticed the subtle jacquard pattern on his white shirt and the mother-of-pearl buttons, a blend of understatement and opulence.

Kaiden then tossed her lightly in his arms, as if amused by herment.

Her body momentarily airborne, she instinctively clung to his neck, eximing, “Hey!”

A low chuckle reached her ears, hinting at Kaiden’s amusement.

Ellie wondered if she had misheard.

“You’ve been in my room before,” Kaiden reminded her, “and in my bed too.”

She had once ended up in his bed after a night of drunken antics.

At the memory, Ellie felt a mix of embarrassment and regret. Alcohol really didplicate things.

Kaiden almost tossed Ellie onto the enormous bed, but the plush mattress cushioned her fall. Quickly, he was over her, his tall frame casting a shadow, recing the coat that had enveloped her.

    “Are you nervous?”

This was a new side of Ellie for Kaiden, and his curiosity was piqued.

Ellie’s knowledge of men in such moments was limited to romantic movies and TV shows. Kaiden’s teasing demeanor was unlike any scripted scene.

He wasposed, while she felt anxious and timid, vulnerable in his presence.

The more she thought about it, the more determined she became. With one hand bracing against the bed and the other around Kaiden’s neck, she initiated a kiss.
