?Chapter 49:
Despite its mild aroma, Long Ind Iced Tea contained gin, rum, vodka, and tequ.
Ellie had consumed over half?
Quite the feat!
Bang!
Suddenly, a noise from the bathroom caught Kaiden’s attention. His heart sank. Without a second thought, he strode quickly to the bathroom and barged in without knocking.
Inside, the bathroom was filled with warm, misty vapors.
The bathtub overflowed, and Elliey submerged, only her head above the water. Her face, flushed from the steam, bore a hint of difort. Strikingly, her injured right leg dangled outside the tub, the ankle visible while the bandaged knee remained submerged.
“Ellie!” Kaiden’s expression turned grave as he lifted her from the bath.
Realizing she should beid t, he quickly wrapped her in a towel.
As he carried her, he shouted, “Get the doctor now!”
The maid at the door, jolted by hismand, rushed toply. Ellie’s consciousness wavered. She struggled to open her eyes, feeling an overwhelming urge to sleep.
Kaiden gentlyid her on the bed, water from her body dampening the sheets.
Her skin, pale and delicate, gave her the appearance of a porcin doll—both exquisite and lifeless, as if she might slip into a deep slumber at any moment.
A sense of panic gripped Kaiden’s heart. “Ellie, wake up!” he called urgently.
On the bed, Ellie’s lips moved faintly, whispering incoherently. Kaiden bent closer, the strong scent of alcohol wafting from her.
“Yummy… I want a little more… My leg hurts…”
Kaiden’s expression darkened, frustration evident. “Serves you right,” he muttered.
The bandage on her knee was soaked and swollen, hinting at a worsening condition. Though Kaiden was ustomed to handling his own injuries, he hesitated to touch her fragile knee, fearing further harm.
Ellie’s expression showed difort as she murmured about the pain in her knee.

“Where’s the doctor?” Kaiden’s voice held an edge of impatience, his usualposure slipping.
“On the way!”
The family doctor arrived in haste, nearly stumbling into the room.
As the doctor neared the door, Kaiden abruptly stood and shut it with a forceful bang, nearly hitting the doctor’s face. This left the doctor confused.
Ellie, covered only by a thin bath towel, shifted restlessly, inadvertently exposing more of herself.
Kaiden’s frustration was evident. He wanted to cover her more decently, but the wet nket was of no use.
He cracked the door just enough for one person to pass through.
“You,e inside,” he directed the maid, tossing a shirt her way. The maid entered, catching a glimpse of Kaiden’s bare torso. She averted her eyes out of respect.
“Cover her with this,” Kaiden instructed, gesturing towards Ellie on the bed.
