?Chapter 33:
“Then get lost!” She sneered.
There was no use being polite to someone as shameless as Erick.
Erick, infuriated, had not anticipated Ellie’s unwavering loyalty to Kaiden, even after revealing such a scandalous secret.
What did Kaiden have that made him so special?
He left in a huff, his anger palpable.
As Ellie moved to close the door, she caught a glimpse of a pink dress hiding behind a pir in the corridor.
Demi was wearing pink today.
Not wanting another confrontation, Ellie quickly shut the door.
Erick’s allegations about Kaiden haunted her thoughts.
Kaiden was… responsible for his brother’s death?
It seemed impossible.
Even though she wasn’t one to gossip, she knew from their circle that Kaiden and Leo had been close.
However, Erick had no reason to lie about it.
It could easily be verified by any member of the Thorpe family.
Kaiden only appeared at dinner.
Following the family’s tradition, the men and women dined separately. The conversation flowed smoothly around her, but Ellie found herself somewhat isted.
She didn’t mind the solitude, finding sce in the quiet. Her eyes asionally wandered to where Kaiden sat, amidst the chatter at the men’s table.
In his wheelchair, Kaiden’s presence was markedly different from the other men. His stern features and detached demeanor set him apart, giving him an almost godlike aura of detachment.
Meanwhile, Ellie’s dining manners were a study in grace, turning each movement into an almost artistic disy. Demi, ever since she had joined the Gordon family, had tried to emte Ellie’s poise but never quite captured her effortless elegance.

Watching Ellie only intensified Demi’s envy.
She was determined not to let Ellie, who had already taken so much from her life, encroach on her rtionship too.
After dinner, Jorge summoned Talon and Kaiden to the study.
On her way back to her room, Ellie was confronted by Demi.
“Want to know the truth about Leo’s death? Meet me at eight tonight,” Demi offered.
“How are you privy to Thorpe family matters?” Ellie narrowed her eyes. Demi, a recent addition to the Gordon household, was unlikely to be well-versed in the intricacies of Critport’s elite, let alone the secrets of the Thorpe family.
“That’s none of your concern,” Demi retorted, her smile tinged with malice. “You can choose to ignore this, but consider what might happen if Kaiden loses control one day.”
Ellie regarded her silently for a moment before asking, “Where should I meet you?”
“The guest room is in the west wing.”
