    She almost burst outughing right then and there.


    Kaiden’s unexpected proposition to acquire Rich Bar seemed like a veiled challenge.


    “Mr. Thorpe, surely you jest. I’ve always been well-mannered, have no interest in bars, andck knowledge in their management. Why would I need Rich Bar?” Ellie responded with a feigned smile.


    “In gambling, Miss Gordon, you surpass even Edwin,” Kaiden remarked casually.


    Edwin was known for his gambling skills, and Kaiden’sment subtly mocked Ellie’s im of being “well-mannered.” Ellie maintained a stoic face. She thought he was slick!


    “Mr. Thorpe, there’s no need for that. I haven’t given you a gift either, so perhaps we could…”


    “Then give me one,” Kaiden interjected.


    What? Ellie, taken aback, intended to suggest offsetting gifts. What did Kaiden mean by that?

    “Once Rich Bar is yours, you’ll have money,” Kaiden replied.


    Ellie was at a loss for words.
