Chapter 25

    ?Chapter 25:

“Mr. Thorpe, since when must ady know how to cook? I didn’t choose that title; it was thrust upon me. And right now, I’m not a top socialite anymore.”

Cooking was a skill, and sadly, not one she possessed.

Kaiden was slightly amused by her feigned docility, akin to a cat trying to appear harmless yet bristling with annoyance.

“Trante this,” he said, sliding a document across to her.

    Ellie was taken aback.

Kaiden returned to his emails and then remarked, “Aren’t you going to thank me?”

Was he now treating her as if she were his employee?

Ellie looked at the document. It was in a foreignnguage.

“I’m confident that you can read it independently,” she muttered. Despite his notorious reputation, Kaiden was known as a young genius, exceptionally intelligent.

Kaiden raised an eyebrow. “So, how do you n to show your gratitude, Mrs. Thorpe?”

Grasping the file firmly, Ellie moved to a nearby table to begin tranting.

All she had to do was trante a document to show her gratitude? That was great!

Kaiden watched her closely, curious to see her reaction to the document’s contents.

Ellie flipped through the pages with her left hand and penned the trantion onto an A4 sheet with her right.

Her efficiency in tranting from English to anothernguage was impressive.

The document was an investigative report, meticulously organized.

“The initial funding for Rich Bar came from the Rich Private Foundation in Oaklea. Aside from a 10% stake held by Rich Bar executives, the Foundation is the majority shareholder, but not the actual beneficiary. The identities of the investors remain unknown.”

    Ellie’s pen halted momentarily.

Was Kaiden probing into the ownership of Rich Bar?

Every tale finds a home at g?lnσν???s

She felt a flutter of anxiety and quickly scanned the rest of the document.

“The designated beneficiary of Rich Bar is undisclosed. Current leads suggest the funds are in Critport, pending further investigation.”

Fortunately, there was nothing directly linking her to the bar’s ownership. The Oaklea-based Rich Private Foundation’s facade was secure; her identity would remain concealed unless she chose to reveal it.

Ellie let out a discreet sigh of relief and resumed her trantion, feigning ignorance of her discovery.

The food on the tray cooled, its aroma fading.

After half an hour, Ellie presented both the original and her trantion to Kaiden. “I’m done tranting it.”

Kaiden acknowledged with a grunt, motioning her to set it aside. He seemed uninterested in reading it immediately.

“You’re investigating Rich Bar…” Ellie ventured cautiously. “Why are you interested in it?”

Attempts to acquire Rich Bar had been frequent over the years, but its elusive owner had consistently remained in the shadows, declining all offers to sell or partner.

“I still owe you a wedding gift. What if I purchase Rich Bar and gift it to you?” Kaiden’s tone was nonchnt, as if discussing an ordinary matter.
