Anneliese nodded without saying much.


    She had met Steven before. Last time, Steven and Gianna''s mother, Wendy, had even saved her. She also liked Ellie a lot. Even India, who could have been considered a love rival, had never given her a bad feeling.

    Just as their eyes met, a familiar and angry voice suddenly sounded from not far to their side.

    The moment Anneliese heard that voice, her whole body stiffened. Her scalp went numb.


    Jonathan felt her tense up and pulled her closer to himself without thinking.


    Anneliese suddenly pushed him away. She stood up fast and turned her head. She saw Nishay standing not far away while still wearing a hospital gown.


    Anneliese''s face turned white. "Grand... Grandma... Why are you here?"


    They were in the emergency area of the obstetrics department.


    Earlier, Jonathan had chosen a restaurant near the hospital only because it was convenient for Anneliese to go back and forth. He had asked Zane to book it near the hospital where Nishay was staying.


    No one expected Jessica to suddenly get into trouble. She had been sent to the nearest hospital, which happened to be this one. She had run right into Nishay.


    When Nishay walked over, Jonathan also stood up. He moved slightly in front of Anneliese without thinking. He stood in a position where he could pull her behind him at any moment. His attitude stayed polite.

    After hearing his words, which sounded both like a promise and reassurance, the dizziness in her head eased a little.

    Nishay frowned. When she heard that Jessica was the one in trouble, she didn''t
