With a bitter smile, Belinda gestured towards Kristopher’s grip on her wrist. “He thought I was Miss Miller.”
That was the moment Kayden noticed Kristopher’s hand on her. His brow furrowed as he retrieved a needle from the medical kit and jabbed it into Kristopher’s wrist sharply. Instantly, Kristopher’s grip loosened, and his hand dropped away from her wrist.
Cradling her now-swollen wrist, Belinda murmured, “Thank you.”
“You’re wee,” Kayden responded, his expression still serious. He then instructed the servants to remove Kristopher’s stretcher from the vehicle and added coldly, “Do you want me to show you how to make him release you next time?”
Belinda understood that his intentions were good and managed a small shake of her head. “No need. There shouldn’t be a next time.” Kayden paused briefly before nodding in agreement. “Right.”
Once the servants had carried the unconscious Kristopher to the master bedroom, Kayden shut the door behind them to begin his examination alone. Not wanting to hinder his efforts, Belinda decided to leave the room.
She followed the servants downstairs and started exploring the vi, which Marc had mentioned was notably secluded. Having been Kristopher’s wife for three years, she was stunned to discover he owned another vi here.
However, the interior of the vi didn’t reflect Kristopher’s usual tastes at all. It was decorated in warm tones, adorned with cotton and linen, and dotted with floral arrangements, creating an ambiance that seemed less like a man’s home and more like… a quaint sanctuary a girl might dream of.
She recalled her fondness for this style. Back when Belinda and Joyce had been caring for Kristopher, Joyce would endlessly chatter about Belinda’s preference for such girlish decor, while Belinda, unable to speak due to a throat injury, could only listen…
As these memories flooded back, Belinda halted abruptly, feeling a surge of blood rush to her head. Memories of Joyce flooded her mind. It dawned on her that the vi was decorated exactly in line with how Joyce had described Belinda’s tastes!

In that moment, Belinda was rooted to the spot. She had thought those memories from two years ago had faded from Kristopher’s mind, so she had carefully avoided bringing them up. But she hadn’t imagined…
That encounter from two years ago… it was still vivid in his memory!?
The thought that Kristopher might still cherish their shared past filled Belinda with a surge of excitement she hadn’t felt in a long time.
She wandered through the vi several times, her memory foggy yet eerily familiar with the surroundings. It seemed that every detail Joyce had once shared with Kristopher—preferences Belinda favored—had been incorporated into the vi’s design. The vi seemed tailored to her past tastes.
As Belinda explored, her surprise deepened, and her emotions became a whirlpool of uncertainty. Part of her believed that Kristopher had remembered everything she cherished from those days and had crafted this sanctuary just for her. Yet, skepticism gnawed at her; perhaps it was all just a coincidence.
After all, it had been five years since she had rescued Kristopher, and during the three years she had stayed by his side, he had never once brought it up. If he truly remembered and had arranged everything for her, why had he remained silent?
