Chapter 154

    ?Chapter 154:

Kristopher scowled, responding, “That’s impossible! Cathy would never do such a thing!”

“And neither would Belinda.” Anthony scoffed. “You’ve been married to her for three years. When has she ever acted against your interests? She was once so vibrant and cheerful, yet for your sake, she changed, suppressing her true self and enduring others’ snide remarks. Has she everined? If she were selfish, she wouldn’t have agreed to keep your marriage a secret for three years!”

Looking intently at Kristopher, Anthony continued, “Besides, even if it was Belinda who leaked this, perhaps she did it because you and your girlfriend crossed the line! You owe her an apology!”

After Anthony’s deration, a hush enveloped the ward. The anger etched on Anthony’s face was evident, prompting Kristopher to frown deeply.

During this tumultuous period, Belinda repeatedly tested his patience. Without his agreement, she had terminated their pregnancy. She had made unfounded assumptions about his rtionship with Cathy. She had announced their impending divorce in a public setting and then failed to appear on the scheduled day of their separation. Moreover, she had been seen with multiple men.

Despite these provocations, he had shown forbearance time and again, even nning to celebrate her uing birthday. Yet, what had he received in return? She continually pushed his boundaries. Today, she had escted matters by posting their marriage certificate online along with a lengthy message aimed at destroying both Cathy and him.

How could Anthony possibly suggest that they owed her anything? What magic had Belinda worked on his Grandpa?

Though she faced away from him, Belinda could sense Kristopher’s icy gaze on her back. Without seeing his face, she could feel the intensity of his anger. The silence lingered until she decided to break it.

“Anthony, Kristopher owes me nothing. Let’s consider it a peaceful breakup.”

Turning to face Kristopher, she spoke with conviction. “Mr. Cox, although I’m not sure who is responsible, I assure you it wasn’t me. Nheless, since the photo of the marriage certificate originated from my home, I will seek out the truth.”

Kristopher’s expression darkened with a subtle frown. Her eyes met his, shining with an unmistakable rity. As he gazed into her eyes, the gloom in his heart slowly lifted. He took a deep breath and began after looking at her for a while.

His words were cut short by the sound of his ringing phone.

He nced at the caller ID and sighed in relief. “Excuse me,” he said softly to those in the room, before turning to leave. His voice, gentle and reassuring, drifted back from the corridor. “Cathy, how are things? Okay, don’t cry. I’ll be there soon…”

In the quiet of the ward, Belinda listened to the diminishing sound of his voice and footsteps until they disappeared at the corridor’s end.

    “Belinda.”

After a lengthy silence, Anthony sighed and fixed his gaze on her.

“That photo… You didn’t take it, did you?”

His question added a touch of sorrow to the room.

Anthony’s uncertainty was evident, yet he had defended her staunchly against Kristopher’s usations just moments before.
