    “Burn those who burned me!”

    <b>Chapter </b>71

    <i>Edward’s </i><b><i>POV</i></b><b><i>: </i></b>

Edward sat wordless and in shock. ra surpassed Caroline, was something like that even possible? In order to surpass Caroline, she would have to have invented some type of cure. Caroline single handedly pioneered some of our most advanced medicine and technology. Confused, Edward stayed silent as Woodcrest continued.

    <i>“</i>I <i>mean</i><i>, </i><i>when </i><i>I </i>found out <i>she </i>was doing <ib </i><i>tutoring </i>helping even some of our most advanced <i>seniors </i><i>in </i><i>Bio</i><i>–</i>Organic <i>chemistry </i>I knew <i>she </i><i>was </i>going to be something special. With <i>her </i><i>help </i>our <i>test </i><i>scores </i><i>increased </i><i>over </i>78 percent for students scoring 90 and above!”

All of this information was crashing into Edward like a tidal wave! When did ra start tutoring courses? Was Jameson aware of all she had been doing here at LexU. Suddenly, while deep in thought, Woodcrest said something that snatched Edward back to reality.

    “What <i>did </i><i>you </i>say<i>?</i>”

He looked at Woodcrest like he grew another head.

    <i>“</i><i>I </i><i>know </i><i>right</i><i>! </i><i>Creating </i><i>a </i><i>cure </i>for <i>the </i><imon </i><i>cold</i><i>! </i>Imagine <i>what </i><i>that </i><i>will </i>do for <i>future </i><i>cures </i>and <i>supplements</i><i>. </i><i>The </i><i>possibilities </i><i>are </i>going <i>to </i><i>be </i>endless<i>! </i><i>I </i><i>know </i><i>Jameson </i>can’t <i>wait </i><i>to-</i><i>” </i><fn8ed8> For original chapters go to fινdnοvel</fn8ed8>

Edward cut Woodcrest off. What the hell was happening! When did ra create a cure!

    <i>“</i><i>Are </i><i>you </i><i>telling </i>me<i>, </i><i>ra</i><i>, </i><i>a </i><i>mere </i><i>sophomore</i><i>, </i><i>created </i><i>a </i><i>cure </i>for <i>something </i>not <i>even </i><i>the </i><i>world’s </i><i>top </i><i>biochemist </i><i>and </i><i>pharmacists </i><i>have </i><i>been </i><i>able </i><i>to </i><i>create</i><i>?</i><b><i>” </i></b>

It sounded basic, but in reality, curing themon cold was nothing short of amazing. Being able to stead a cure for baseline of majority diseases and infections could possibly open the door to everything from pneumonia to advanced covid and flu infections. Not to mention the breakthroughs it could open for cancer, AIDS, etc. How was this possible!

Woodcrest looked confused; he was sure Edward would have learned all of this from Jameson.

    <i>“</i><i>Sophomore</i><i>, </i>she <i>was </i><i>still </i><i>a </i>freshman.”

Edward’s eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets. A FRESHMAN! This was impossible!

    “Woodcrest<b><i>, </i></b><i>do </i><i>you </i><i>hear </i><i>what </i><i>you’re </i><i>saying</i>? I know <i>the </i><i>girl </i><i>is </i><i>intelligent </i><i>but </i><i>even </i><i>her </i><i>mother</i>…”

Edward’s words trailed off. There was no way Woodcrest was being truthful. Or maybe he

meant she was on the path to finding a cure. But when Edwards looked into Woodcrest’s eyes, he could see the slight disdain.

    “<i>Edward</i><i>, </i><i>I </i><i>would </i><i>never </i><i>lie </i>on <i>my </i><i>students</i><i>. </i><i>Honestly</i>, <i>I </i>can’t <i>believe </i><i>you </i><i>didn’t </i><i>know </i><i>any </i>of <i>this</i>. <i>I </i><i>figured </i><i>Jameson </i><i>wouldn’t </i><i>allow </i><i>her </i><i>to </i><i>begin </i><i>trials </i><i>for </i>that <i>or </i><i>the </i><i>cancer </i><i>treatments</i><i>, </i><i>but </i>I <i>assumed-</i>”

    Edward held his hands up.

    “<i>Whoa</i><i>, </i><i>what </i><i>cancer </i><i>treatments</i>?”

    Puzzled.

    <i>“</i><i>Shortly </i><i>after </i><i>she </i><i>created </i><i>the </imon <i>cold </i><i>cure </i><i>she </i><i>naturally </i><i>started </i><i>working </i><i>on </i><i>cancer </i><i>treatments</i><i>. </i><i>She’s </i><i>been </i><i>trying </i><i>to </i><i>create </i><i>a </i><i>medication </i><i>that </i><i>would </i><i>heal </i><i>and </i><i>restore </i><i>damaged </i><i>or </i><i>lost </i><i>blood </i><i>cells</i><i>, </i><i>that </i><i>would </i><i>not </i><i>only </i><i>remove </i><i>the </i><i>cancer </i><i>but </i><i>ensure </i><i>it </i><i>wouldn’t </i><i>grow </i><i>back</i><i>. </i><i>I </i><i>believe she’s </i><ie </i><i>close</i><i>. </i><i>I </i><i>think the </i><i>only </i><i>thing </i><i>that </i><i>has </i><i>stopped </i><i>her </i><i>is </i><i>not </i><i>being </i><i>able </i><i>to </i><i>do </i><i>any </i><i>trials</i><i>.</i><i>” </i>

There it was. THAT was why Taylor wanted to work with her so badly. Woodcrest was right, ra had indeed surpassed her mother, in fact, she’d surpassed just about every scientist and

biochemist throughout the world and if they didn’t act fast, JGP would lose that brilliance.

Edward quickly stood up. He shook Woodcrest’s hand thanking him for seeing him today.

    “<i>I </i><i>just </i><i>wanted </i><i>to </i><i>make </i><i>sure she </i><i>was </i><i>excelling </i><i>here</i><i>! </i><i>I’m sure </i><i>you </i><i>know </i><i>she’s </i><i>the </i><i>future </i><i>of </i>JGP.<i>” </i>

    <i>“</i><i>Oh</i>, <i>of </i><i>course</i><i>! </i><i>Hey</i><i>, </i><i>I </i><i>know </i><i>Jameson </i><i>has </i><i>big </i><i>ns </i><i>for </i><i>her</i>. <i>That’s </i><i>why </i><i>I </i><i>was </i><i>so </i><i>surprised </i><i>when </i><i>she </i>

    <i>transferred</i><i>.</i><i>” </i>

Edward’s smile faded in an instant. Transferred?

    “What are <i>you-</i><i>” </i>

Before Edward could get his question out, Woodcrest continued.

    “Not to <i>mention </i><i>how </i>heartbroken we as <i>well </i>as <i>our </i>students <i>were</i>! I mean the entire sophomore and freshman ss equates her tutoring to <i>why </i><i>they </i>passed<i>!</i><i>” </i>

“Woodcrest, where is <i>she </i>transferring too?”

Woodcrest once again looked at Edward with confusion, had Jameson also not informed him of this<b>? </b>

    “Why <i>she’s </i><i>going </i>to <i>Osha</i><i>.</i><i>” </i>

Osha! As in Osha university in Springsten! That school was on the other side of the world!

    CRACK.

Whatever piece of hope Edward felt instantly crumbled. ra was going to Osha and to make matters worse; Jameson was none the wiser. Not to mention, now Taylor would no longer need JGP in order to work with her. Word was bound to get out that his star prize would be attending his alma mater.

Edward left LexU with a heavy heart filled with anger. Jameson had single handedly just destroyed any chances of JGP ever going global all because of his inferiority to his dead wife and daughter. Edward was no fool, he knew the real reason Jameson favored that fool of a daughter and her mother was because of his ego. Constantly falling into the shadows of Caroline left a bitter mark on him and it was no different with his genius daughter. One thing was clear for Edward, tonight would be hisst night at JGP Corp.
