    <b>Chapter </b><b>70 </b>

    <i>Jameson </i><b><i>POV</i></b><b><i>: </i></b>

As the Grangers made their way to Lowelston Grand Hotel for the g, Jameson was still

    fuming.

    ‘I <i>can’t </i><i>believe </i><i>that </i><i>little </i><i>bitch dared </i><i>to </i><i>kick </i>me<i>!</i><i>” </i>

After ra left, Jameson immediately went to his study fuming. In his haste of anger, he’d forgotten how imperative it was for her to be at the g. Suddenly, Anna walked in with a

ss of water and an aspirin. Angry, she began to yell.

    <i>“</i><i>I </i><i>want </i><i>you </i><i>to </i><i>call </i><i>the </i><i>cops </i><i>on </i><i>that </i><i>little </i><i>bitch </i>for <i>assault</i><i>!!</i>”

Jameson scoffed, there was no way he was going to call the authorities about getting his ass

kicked by his daughter. The embarrassment would be to much to bear.

    <i>“</i><i>I </i><i>will </i><i>do </i><i>no </i><i>such </i><i>thing </i><i>and </i><i>neither </i><i>will </i><i>you</i><i>!</i><i>” </i>

Anna’s eyes bulged. She couldn’t believe Jameson would not want to throw ra in jail. Softening her voice, Anna rubbed Jameson’s back.

    “<i>Honey</i>, <i>I </i><i>know </i><i>she’s </i><i>your </i><i>daughter</i><i>, </i><i>but </i>I’m <i>afraid </i><i>for </i><i>you</i><i>! </i><i>She </i><i>has </i><i>crossed </i><i>the </i><i>line</i><i>! </i><i>Sophie </i><i>would </i>

    <i>never-</i>”

Jameson raised his hand and cut Anna off.<b>, </b>

    “I said no! <i>Do </i>you <i>realize </i><i>what </i><i>type </i><i>of </i><i>gossip </i><i>will </i><i>go </i><i>draw </i><i>if </i>people found out <i>I </i>couldn’t control my got damn daughter<i>! </i><i>No </i><i>cops</i>! <i>That’s </i>final!”

Anna sulked, though she didn’t want to admit, Jameson was right. This could potentially backfire if word got out about transpired today. <fndb8d> Th? link to the orig?n of this information r?sts ?n </fndb8d>

    “Well <i>then </i>what are <i>we </i>going <i>to </i>do<i>? </i><i>She </i>can’t get away with this<i>!</i><i>” </i>

Jameson kept quiet, right now his mind was on the g. He knew Taylor would not want to go into business with him if he did not produce ra.

<i>“</i>Jameson, do you hear me? What are <i>we </i>going-”

    “<i>That’s </i>enough Anna<i>!</i><i>” </i>

Startled, Anna backed into thew chair with a shocked look, Jameson had never raised his voice to her. Anna’s eyes began to water in confusion.

    <i>“</i><i>Jameson</i>…”

Jameson looked at Anna, his expression began to soften, he hadn’t meant to take his anger out on her. Speaking in a calmer tone, he grabbed Anna’s hand.

    <i>“</i>I’m sorry <i>dear</i><i>. </i><i>I </i>didn’t mean to <i>yell </i><i>at </i><i>you</i><i>. </i><i>That </i><i>little </i><i>runt</i><i>! </i><i>She’s </i><i>causing </i><i>more </i><i>trouble </i><i>than </i><i>she’s </i>worth! <i>If </i><i>I </i>can’t get <i>her </i>to <i>that </i><i>g tonight </i><i>we’re </i><i>screwed</i><i>.</i><i>” </i>

Puzzled, Anna waited for Jameson to exin. Why was it so important for her to be at the g.

    <i>“</i><i>Jameson</i>, <i>I </i><i>don’t </i><i>understand</i>. <i>Why </i><i>does </i><i>she </i><i>have </i><i>to </i><i>be </i><i>there</i><i>?</i><i>” </i>

Jameson looked over to Anna. After exhaling, he began to exin the events that took ce at the meeting that morning. Anna stood shock, what in the world was going on! Why had Chairman Taylor requested that girl and with to such a degree! None of it was making any

    sense.

    <i>“</i><i>I </i><i>just </i><i>don’t </i><i>understand </i><i>this</i><i>! </i>Do <i>they </i><i>know </i><i>each </i><i>other</i><i>?</i>”

“I don’t see how. Taylor is usually on the west continent, and even when he does travel, he neveres this way. He knows Glendale and the entire northern continent is dominated by

    JGP.”

    Anna began to pace.

    “So, what are <i>we </i>going to <i>do </i><i>if </i>she <i>doesn’t’arrive </i>tonight?”

Jameson pondered nervously, he hadn’t had a chance to think of a n B. He was so sure ra would be grateful of him allowing her back home. In the past, even the smallest kind gesture would be enough, but now, now she was a totally different person. Completely uncontroble. He had to think of a way to regain his control over her if he was going to use her genius to

    expand his business.

Picking up his phone, he immediately called his assistant.

“Find ra and bring her back to the estate now<i>!</i><i>” </i>

Jameson barked his orders to his assistant leaving little room for questions.

    <i>“</i>Yes sir<i>!</i><i>” </i>

    <i>Edward’s </i>POV<b>: </b>

    <i>He </i>wasn’t <i>sure </i><i>why</i><i>, </i><i>but </i><i>clearly </i><i>Jameson </i><i>had </i><i>been </i><i>lying </i><i>about </i>the <i>rtionship </i><i>he </i><i>had </i><i>with </i><i>his </i><i>daughter</i>. <i>Though </i><i>Edward </i><i>knew he </i><i>favored </i><i>his </i><i>adoptive </i>daughter, he never <i>thought </i><i>Jameson </i><i>was </ipletely <i>estranged</i>. But <i>something </i><i>Taylor </i>said <i>at </i><i>that </i>meeting was gnawing at <i>his </i><i>brain </i><i>like </i><i>a </i>mouse <i>with </i><i>cheese</i><i>. </i>

    <i>‘</i><i>You </i><i>really </i>don’t know why I’m interested <i>in </i>your daughter<i>?</i><i>‘ </i>

    <i>Those </i><i>words </i><i>kept </i>haunting <i>at </i><i>him</i>. Why <i>was </i>he <i>so </i>interested in <i>ra</i>. <i>Edward </i>wasn’t <i>unaware </i>of <i>her </i><i>brilliance</i><i>, </i><i>but </i><i>surely </i><i>that </i>wasn’t enough to go <i>through </i><i>such </i>lengths <i>just </i><i>to </i><i>work </i><i>with </i><i>her</i><i>. </i><i>After</i>–all, Ethan <i>Taylor </i><i>was </i><i>a </i>pioneering genius <i>himself</i><i>, </i>the nano <i>technology </i><i>he </i><i>advanced </i>for <i>medicine </i>was nothing <i>short </i>of amazing. <i>There </i>had to be more. <i>As </i><i>Edward </i><i>pulled </i><i>up </i>to <i>LexU</i><i>, </i><i>he </i><i>hoped </i><i>his </i>answers <i>would </i><i>be </i><i>here</i>. <i>The </i><i>school </i>was <i>practically </i><i>empty </i>now <i>that </i><i>the </i><i>school </i><i>year </i><i>was </i><i>over</i><i>, </i><i>but </i>he knew <i>the </i><i>dean </i>would <i>still </i>be <i>in</i>. Walking into <i>the </i><i>front </i><i>office</i><i>, </i><i>the </i><i>receptionist’s </i>head <i>popped </i><i>up in surprise</i><i>. </i>

    <i>“</i><i>Mr. </i><i>Williams</i><i>! </i>Wee <i>back </i>to <i>LexU</i><i>! </i><i>What </i><i>brings </i><i>you </i><i>here </i><i>today</i>?”

    <i>Letting </i><i>out </i><i>a </i><i>bright smile</i><i>, </i><i>Edward </i><i>thanked </i><i>the </i><i>receptionist </i><i>for </i><i>the </i><i>warm </i><i>wee </i><i>and </i><i>informed </i><i>her </i><i>he </i>was <i>looking </i><i>for </i>Dean <i>Woodcrest</i><i>. </i>

    <i>“</i><i>Oh</i><i>, </i><i>absolutely</i><i>! </i><i>Dean </i><i>Woodcrest </i><i>is </i><i>in </i><i>his </i><i>office</i><i>. </i><i>Let </i><i>me </i><i>call </i><i>him </i><i>now</i><i>. </i><i>Please </i><i>have </i>a <i>seat</i><i>.</i><i>” </i>

    <i>Edward </i><i>nodded </i><i>his </i><i>head </i><i>with </i>a smile <i>and </i><i>sat </i><i>in </i><i>the </i><i>waiting </i><i>area</i>. A <i>few </i><i>moments </i><iter</i><i>, </i><i>Woodcrest </i><i>walked </i>into <i>the </i><i>front </i><i>office</i><i>. </i>

    <i>“</i><i>Edward</i><i>! </i><i>What </i><i>brings </i><i>you </i><i>here </i><i>today</i><i>?</i><i>” </i>

    <i>Edwards </i><i>immediately </i><i>stood </i><i>shaking </i><i>Dean </i><i>Woodcrest’s </i>hand.

    “It’s been <i>a </i><i>while </i>I <i>know</i><i>. </i>I need toe <i>visit </i>more often, take a look at what some of <i>the </i><i>promising </i>new students are up too.”

**“Think nothing of it, I know you’re working hard at JGP.“*

Edward almostughed out loud at thatment. If only Woodcrest knew just how he’d been working to help thatpany grow.

    “<i>Absolutely</i><i>! </i>Still, I’m excited to see <i>what </i>new <i>talent will </i><i>be </iing <i>through </i>those <i>doors</i><i>! </i><i>We’ll </i><i>have </i>

    <i>a </i><i>full </i><i>inter </i><i>program </i><i>next </i><i>year </i>so I’m <i>excited </i>to <i>meet </i><i>the </i>new talent<i>.</i><i>” </i>

    <i>“</i><i>That’s </i><i>wonderful</i><i>! </i><i>The </i><i>students </i><i>will definitely </i><i>be </i><i>working </i><i>hard </i><i>to </i><i>be </i><i>epted</i><i>. </i><i>I </i><i>can </i><i>honestly </i><i>say </i><i>we’ve </i><i>had </i><i>some </i><i>bright </i><i>and </i><i>amazing </i><i>talent </i><i>these </i><i>past </i><i>few </i><i>years</i>.”

Edward so that as his way in to ask about ra.

    <i>“</i><i>Speaking </i>of <i>new </i><i>talent</i><i>, </i><i>how </i><i>has </i><i>ra </i><i>been </i><i>doing</i>?”

Dean Woodcrest paused for a brief as they made their way to his office. Walking into the office, Woodcrest motioned for Edward to take a seat. A serious expression on his face.

    <i>“</i><i>ra </i><i>Gra</i>–<i>Rouleau</i><i>?</i><i>” </i>

Edward’s brows furrowed. When did ra start going by Rouleau? A dark cloud started looming over his head like a bad omen. Something was wrong. Maintaining his lightposure, Edward smiled faintly.

    <i>“</i><i>I </i><i>wasn’t </i><i>aware </i><i>she </i><i>started </i><i>going </i><i>by </i><i>Rouleau</i><i>.</i><i>” </i>

    “<i>Well</i><i>, </i><i>it </i><i>came </i>as a <i>bit </i><i>of </i><i>shock </i><i>to </i><i>us </i><i>when she </i><i>put </i><i>the </i><i>request </i><i>in</i><i>, </i><i>but </i><i>I </i><i>wasn’t </i><i>too </i><i>surprised</i>. <i>Afterall</i><i>, </i><i>her </i><i>mother </i><i>was </i><i>the </i><i>true </i><i>genius</i>. <i>Though</i>, <i>and </i><i>I </i>can’t <i>believe </i><i>I’m </i><i>saying </i><i>this</i><i>, </i><i>I </i><i>think </i><i>ra </i>

    <i>may </i><i>have </i><i>surpassed </i><i>her</i><i>.</i><i>” </i>
