I was on my way to Grayson and Tiffany’s residence so we could leave together for the stupid family lunch. I couldn’t wait for the hours to go by quickly.
It was still only because of my father that I was even showing up. He had never made anything sound so urgent and that made me believe he had something important to say.
Just to forget about what else I would have to deal with at the estate, the post about Harper came to my mind again.
I thought it was just too easy that Tiffany did nothing more after that day she found Harper at my ce and received that hard p.
I had gotten off the phone with Harper right before I drove to Grayson’s residence. She didn’t say much about the post and even sounded cool, almost too cool, apart from that sore throat.
But to me, it felt like she was hiding a fire behind each word.
It wasn’t even a surprise because I had seen it first hand. She was always so calm and collected but when fucking me, she was different.
My mind drifted back tost night. The way she raised her leg to expose her pussy to me. The way I leaned back on that couch and watched her bounce her ass while my cock was inside of her and the way her tongue and mouth felt in the shower when she got on her knees.
She was all I could think about while I was out of town for two weeks. It was for this reason that I went straight to her house when I returned. It was worth it. I had never been like that with anyone before.
While I was still thinking about her, there was an iing call and I looked over. It was Kate’s name on the caller ID. I focused on the road again, telling myself I’d call her backter. But that wasn’t the first time I was doing that.
As I arrived at the Ford estate, the iron gates opened and I drove my car along the perfectly manicured driveway. This was my sister and her husband’s home and it wasn’t that impressive, at least not to me.
I stepped out of the car and the butler was already by the front doors.
“Good afternoon, Mr Aldridge,” he greeted me with a bow.
1 gave a slight nod and made my way inside, already looking at my surroundings. Even with the smell of fresh lilies in the air and my ck shoes blending in with the marble floors, it still wasn’t to my taste.
“Mr. and Mrs. Ford will be down shortly,” the butler added as he gestured towards one of the living rooms.
I didn’t even take a seat, but instead stood by the window and shoved my hands in the pockets of my suit as I nced at the beautiful garden outside.
I found myself thinking about Harper again and the way she looked at mest night. I was both her ruin and

her release. There was something I was yet to tell her and imagining her reaction already made me eager to say it, but I wanted it to be in person.
It was only when Tiffany’s voice echoed with an annoyingughter along with her heels that my thoughts were interrupted.
“No, Kate, I’m telling you, she’s probably in bed, her pillow soaked in her tears. I mean, just look at those pictures. Yikes!”
She said it all without a care in the world.
When I turned slowly, she was making her way down the stairs, a little overdressed for lunch, but that was Tiffany and it didn’te as a surprise.
Even as her eyes met mine, she focused on her conversation with Kate.
“I’m d that the people in thements can confirm that it’s really her in those pictures. Some people refuse to believe it because she looks like some goddess now. Anyway I’ll call youter. He’s here.”
Her voice was a little quiet towards the end, like she was suggesting something to Kate, but I paid no attention
to it.
As soon as she hung up, she said, “how do I look?”
“Overdressed,” I said tly.
“And yet I still look so good!” She checked herself out. “I thought I’d find you with a drink in hand or something.”
“I’m good.”
She began to talk about how much she spent on her outfit and I watched her closely. She was beautiful and styled to perfection but there was something rotten underneath all of it.
“Why are you looking at me like there is a stain on my dress or something?” she asked, her eyes narrowed.
“It’s got nothing to do with your dress.” I slightly tilted my head. “I’m just wondering why you had to post that about Harper.”
“Oh, that thing?” She smirked with amusement as she walked past me. “You make it sound like I did the worst thing in the history of mankind. Come on. It wasn’t a big deal, just some old photos. She’s been through
worse,
Following behind her, I said, “Is that why you were on the phone, ughing about it with Kate?”
She turned to face me, raising her eyebrows. “I remember the days when you called her Clingy Harper. That’s all she was, someone you made fun of, so is this you defending her? And don’t you remember what she did to me? She pped me a-”
“That’s because you disrespected her family and you know it.”

“It doesn’t matter what you say. She’s not some innocent victim. She threw herself at you two weeks ago.”
I smacked my lips and leaned against the wall, realising she did all this with that old image in mind. She still had no idea that I slept with Harper again and it left me with a few questions.
“What is it?” she asked, as if picking up on my reaction.
“It’s nothing.”
She didn’t ask anything further but only said something about forgetting to pack her lipstick, so she made her way back upstairs.
Right when she turned at the corner, Grayson appeared, making his way down while adjusting the watch on his wrist. Just the person I was looking for.
“Didn’t mean to keep you waiting,” he said after getting past the bottom stair.
“I haven’t been here too long.”
I watched him closely, waiting for him to bring up the topic first, but he seemed to choose silence.
It was for this reason that I pushed myself off the wall and approached him, my voice low when I spoke.
“So… you didn’t tell her.”
His forehead creased. “Tell who what?”
I chuckled in disbelief. “I’m talking about Tiffany. You didn’t tell her you found me at Harper’s ce and I was shirtless while she was in a robe.”
His eyes narrowed but he said nothing and that told me everything.
I stepped closer, my voice filled with mockery. “What’s wrong? Are you afraid to tell your wife that the minute you returned from your honeymoon, you came straight to Harper’s front door?”
He blinked quickly, looking to the side with a clenched jaw. That was the confirmation I needed.
“Yeah,” I said. “That’s what I thought.”
His stare was hard when he finally decided to say something. “The only reason I didn’t tell Tiffany anything is because that would have only made things worse. She’s already made her move and that’s only because of what happened two weeks ago. Imagine when she finds out it happened again.”
“No, imagine when she finds out after it happens the fifth time.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” He scowled.
“You know exactly what it means.”
He poked his cheek.

“I heard you yesterday, telling Harper that I was leaving town and what did she tell you?”
He scoffed. “I’m d you heard that for yourself. At least you know that I want her to stay away from you because I’m concerned.”
“Concerned? That’s why you came to see her the moment you returned? You might not realize this, but I’m watching you closely.”
“Why?” He stepped forward, bringing his face closer to mine.
Tiffany’s heels echoed along the hallway, getting louder each second.
It was the only reason he stepped back. He seemed a little agitated that I saw right through him. He wasn’t fooling me.
As soon as Tiffany was close enough, he reached for her hand and they left ahead of me.
He evenplimented her entire look again and she giggled the way she always did.
I needed a minute before I could get to my car, once again reminding myself that I needed to wear a fake smile at my father’s residence since I was going to spend the afternoon there.
I finally made it to my car and driving alone to the estate gave me more time topose myself and I received a call from Uncle Sebastian.
“I was just about to call. I’m on my way to the estate,” I said with an effort.
He chuckled. “Why does it already sound like you don’t want to go home?”
“It’s not home and you know it.”
“You might be right, but you lived there for quite some time.”
“But I spent more years with you.”
“Just try to enjoy it and don’t focus too much on Margot. Got it?”
“I’ll do my best.”
After a twenty minute drive, I could see the Aldridge estate. I hadn’t been to that residence in a few months.
Though I had lived there for some years, it never felt like home, except for one room.
I parked next to Grayson’s car and leaned back in my seat with a heavy sigh, watching the two of them step out first but pause to talk about something quietly.
“Let’s get this over with,” I said under my breath, carrying a special set of keys with me to the one ce that actually felt like home in the whole estate.
As soon as I made it into the hallway, the first person I spotted was Margot. She wore a long and elegant beige dress, a diamond ne and earrings toplete her look.

“Well, look who it is,” she said, her fake smile growing wider when she was close enough. “It feels just like yesterday when you declined my call, but it’s already been two weeks. I didn’t get an apology, but no hard feelings, okay?”
Hard feelings or not, I didn’t give a fuck.
Nothing she said politely ever meant she was being nice. I always saw right through her.
I was the one who inherited my father’spany, yet she still walked around like everything should have belonged to Tiffany.
Gently cing her hands on my shoulders, she said, “You look so much like your father today.”
“Thanks.” I didn’t return the smile as I took a step back to not feel her touch.
She was about to say something about it after a soft chuckle of disbelief, but Grayson joined the two of us and greeted her with a kiss. Her attentionpletely shifted as he was like his golden boy, especially now that he was her son–inw.
I let them walk ahead of me since I wasn’t even interested in their conversation.
Then, my phone buzzed in my hand. It was a message from Harper and it instantly made me shake my head in amusement..
“Any chance I can know the time I’m getting my snacks?”
I had told her that I would get her something since she wasn’t feeling too well.
I was in the middle of typing while heading towards the garden when I heard a familiar voice that made me stop in my tracks.
“Hey, handsome.”
I turned and there she was with blond waves, red lips that smirked at me the way they did when we were alone, short ck dress and heels that entuated her smooth legs. It should have been a pleasant surprise to see her, but it wasn’t. That was a family gathering, so why was she there?
“Kate?”
