I should have known that it wasn’t over that day when Harper pped Tiffany hard and all my wife did was shed a few tears. She just made it seem like she wasn’t humiliated and the p didn’t sting that much.

That should have been my warning because it turned out that all along, she was waiting. She finally delivered her strategic blow and must have wanted to enjoy every moment of it by not letting it get in the way of our honeymoon.

I got up from the chair by the balcony, my grip getting tighter around my phone. Right on her page, Tiffany had made a post about Harper, but not the version of her that was gorgeous and glowing. It contained a number of old photos I hadn’t seen in years. They were from before college, before the confidence, before everything about her bloomed. They were from a time when she still had her hair pulled back in messy braids, oversized clothes, braces and e all over her face.

Tiffany made sure to strike where it would hurt Harper the most, by going after her transformation and it was crystal clear in the caption.

“It’s just funny how the girl who thinks she can now go around pping people used to beg for crumbs of attention. Not even her best friend wanted her. Like seriously, who would want this?”

The caption hit me hard and I shut my eyes for a moment, running the palm of my hand down my face before staring at the photos again and then at one particr statement in the caption. Not even her best friend wanted her. I was so mad that I roughly shoved my phone in my pocket, not just because of what Tiffany did, but also because of how much of it was true.

Now that I could finally see myself with Harper, she was too focused on Maddox and even had the nerve to tell me that they were just having a good time. That was all it was to her and nothing serious.

It should have made me feel better, but it didn’t. It made everything worse because the idea of her offering herself to that fuckboy who was now my brother–inw so casually made me want to smash everything. He was having the better version of her which was every man’s desire. I wasn’t even able to sleep peacefully at night as I couldn’t stop thinking about her and how she spread her legs for him a second time.

I was supposed to head to the bathroom so I could freshen up, but that was going to wait. I needed to speak to Tiffany first,

I came back to the bedroom and found her sitting with her legs crossed, humming softly while lining her lips..

She always looked so </bposed and well–polished, like nothing ever bothered her and that day wasn’t any different, but it should have been.

“Babe,” I said, looking at her reflection.

“Mm–hmm?” She didn’t even nce at me.

    “Why did you post that?”

She paused with the lip liner mid–swipe, but it was only for a second. “Which one? 1 post a lot of things.

I got closer to her chair, my jaw clenched. “This isn’t the time to y dumb with me.”

When she finally met my eyes in the mirror, she showed no signs of being apologetic. She was only amused.

“Baby, it’s already been two weeks but I wasn’t just going to sit around after Harper slept with my brother and pped me.”

My stomach twisted at the thought of Maddox fucking Harper.

Tiffany had no idea that the two of them had done it again the previous night and this time, right in Harper’s home. She let him touch her in all the ways I now wished I could.

When she finished lining her lips, she picked up a brush to blend. “I never liked Harper and you’ve known this from the first day we met. She always wanted to act like she was better than everyone else, like she was quiet and sweet but deep down? She just wanted attention and now, she’s finally getting it. Well, good for her.”

I didn’t say anything immediately. I was too busy imagining the sounds Harper made when Maddox kissed her while he was deep inside of her.

My silence seemed to bother Tiffany as she looked back at me, smirking at me with her purple lips as she

    came to me.

“Don’t tell me you’re mad at me.”

I sighed. “Do you have any idea how cruel that post was?”

“Cruel?” she mockingly repeated. “That was just a little taste of what I could do and besides, I only told the truth. You didn’t want her back then. No one did.”

I clenched my fists behind my back because now, I wanted Harper, even more than I did before she fucked Maddox.

“I made it clear that you should leave her alone,” I reminded her.

“That’s exactly what I did. I didn’t touch her, I only touched the inte.” she winked. “She started it. Did she honestly think my reaction that day was the end of it? I’d like to see here back from this.”

She gently ran the palm of her hand against the side of my face before walking past me. She was calm because the whole thing didn’t matter to her, but it mattered to me.

When I finally stepped into the shower, I couldn’t stop thinking about Harper and how she must have felt when she saw that post. She must have been quiet when she read the caption. She must have seen it by now, but why didn’t she call me?

Tiffany was downstairs when I returned to the bedroom and before putting on my suit. I reached for my phone and scrolled to Harper’s number. My thumb hovered over the call button as I told myself I shouldn’t be calling her, not after what Tiffany did.

In the end, I dialed her number anyway.

“Hello?” she said from the other end of the line, her voice a little strained.

“Hey, everything good?” I was already under the assumption that she sounded that way because of the post.

“Just a sore throat. What’s up?”

Not even finding out the reason she sounded that way put me at ease.

“Have you seen Tiffany’s post?” I asked.

“How could I not see it when it’s everywhere and I’ve been mentioned so many times?” Her tone was a little sharp.

I sighed. “Look, Tiffany shouldn’t have done that. She really crossed the line and I’m sorry.”

    “There you go again.”

    “Harp-”

“No,” she cut in. “The next time something like this happens, don’t even bother apologizing, especially not for her.”

I closed my eyes. “I just didn’t want you to think I’m in support of any of this.”

“Are you being for real?” Her strained voice cracked a little. “It doesn’t matter because in the end, you always protect her, even when she’s doing the most hurtful things.”

She was right and it made me press the phone harder against my ear. “I just-”

“She’s clearly trying to ruin my reputation, but I know exactly how to handle this.”

My eyes narrowed with curiosity. “What are you going to do?”

With so much confidence, she only said, “You’ll see.”
