She shook off the receptionist’s hand, swept her cold gaze over the surrounding crowd, and finally fixed her eyes intently on Connor. “What’s wrong with being a housewife?

“Connor, don’t forget that before you crippled my hands and legs, I was an outstanding surgeon and a versatile dancer. I am fully capable of supporting myself!

“You use me of seducing men simply because I wear luxury brands? In this day and age, how can you still casually fabricate sexual rumors about women? And to think you are the heir to a corporate group that has received an excellent education since childhood–yet this is all you amount to!”

Xyliaunched into a rapid, noisy, and forceful outpouring, a stark contrast to thepliant demeanor she had disyed previously.

Connor and Tessa were both surprised by the way she looked.

When he heard Xylia state that it was he who caused her to lose the use of her limbs, Connor’s heart skipped a beat.

She did indeed discover that it was his intentional dy in providing timely treatment back then that prevented her injuries to her hands and legs from healing.

He did feel a sense of guilt, but more than that, he believed Xylia was not magnanimous enough.

At that time, Xylia was still his wife andcked nothing; nevertheless, she relied on her talent for dance topete with Tessa for her livelihood.

When Tessa ran into trouble, he was left with no choice but to resort to thisst resort for her

    sake.

He believed that at that time, Xylia had already lived eighteen years of a luxurious life by assuming Tessa’s identity. She inherently owed Tessa, so making such a sacrifice was only to be expected.

At this thought, the sense of guilt in Connor’s heart was immediately alleviated,

Tessa, however, couldn’t stand Xylia’s haughty attitude. “You speak in such lofty terms, but it was you whomitted infidelity when you were still married to Connor.”

Xylia let out a cold snort. “You two have been secretly involved behind my back for eight years -does that not count as cheating?”

“You-” Tessa red fiercely at Xylia, surprised that after just a few days apart, she’d gotten so

Tessa looked at the receptionist, pointed at Xylia, and said fiercely, “Why are you still standing there? Kick her out right now! You should know I’m the one yourpany is begging to cooperate with. If you offend me, I’ll have you fired immediately!”

The young receptionist found Tessa familiar and certainly didn’t dare to offend her.

He promptly called security to have Xylia removed.

As the security guard approached, Kaden’s voice came from the side. “Stop!”

Some onlookers were all very surprised to see Kaden walk over, wondering, ‘How could such a minor matter bring Mr. Sadler here in person?‘

Kaden walked over to Xylia and cast a worried nce over her. “Are you alright?”

    Xylia nodded. “I’m fine.”

Upon seeing that Xylia truly knew Kaden, the receptionist felt a sudden jolt in his heart. ‘Could she truly be Mr. Sadler’s younger sister?‘

    Hisplexion turnedpletely pale.

Connor, however, noticed that Xylia and Kaden were speaking in a familiar tone; it didn’t seem like they didn’t know each other.

His gaze sharpened as he wondered, ‘Does she truly have an affair with Kaden Sadler as well?‘

Only after Kaden confirmed that Xylia was unharmed did he turn and direct his attention to Tessa. “You think I’m begging you to cooperate?”

Kaden let out a mockingugh, while Tessa’s face turned slightly pale.

He continued, “I already told you two when I was in Jupiton that the Sadler Group would never cooperate with you. I thought you could understand my words.”

    Kaden’s words were highly impactful.

Tessa’s face went pale, then turned ashen. “Mr. Sadler, I never received any notice from your staff about refusing to cooperate. At that time, we had already moved the cooperation forward. And now you want to stop the deal? Don’t you have any integrity at all?”

Kaden shot her a nce. “Progress isn’t the same as signing a contract–you do know the difference, right?”

    Tessa’s words were stifled.

Indeed, unless both parties had entered into a contract, there could be no breach of contract.

Kaden, with a stern expression, instructed the security personnel, “Remember these three individuals. From now on, they are not permitted to set foot in the Sadler Group again.”

As he spoke, Kaden’s gaze again paused on Sonny’s face for two seconds.

He then averted his gaze as if nothing was wrong.

Kaden looked at Xylia. “Have you brought the document?”

Xylia nodded and was about to take it out when Kaden said gently, “Then let’s go.”

    Xylia left with Kaden.

The security personnel immediately turned around and, with stern expressions, expelled Connor and the other two from the Sadler Group.

Totally embarrassed, the three did not shamelessly linger any further; instead, they left immediately.

The receptionist, dazed and disoriented, returned to his workstation. Shortly after, he received a resignation notice from Human Resources and slumped in despair.

Xylia followed Kaden to the top–floor office.

After exiting the elevator, Kaden introduced Xylia to the staff of the secretary’s office. “This is my biological younger sister, Xylia Sadler. Everyone, remember this: from now on, if anyone in thepany makes things difficult for her, you must proactively submit your resignation application.”

The secretaries all nodded. “Understood, Mr. Sadler.”

Xylia followed behind Kaden, forcing an awkward smile.

The sight of so many people standing up together in a respectful manner was truly magnificent.

She had not yet adapted it.

Upon arriving at Kaden’s office, Xylia handed the document to him. “Kaden, is there anything

    you need?”

    else

Kaden took the document and motioned for Xylia to take a seat.

Xylia sat down on the sofa, and Kaden got her a drink. “Was that your son just now?”

Xylia nodded. “He was, but not anymore.”

Kaden did not fully know everything Xylia experienced in the past; he only vaguely knew that her marriage was unhappy and that her husband did not treat her well.

He had always been afraid to ask her about these matters. However, now that Connor had gone so far as to provoke the Sadler Group, Kaden could no longer sit by and do nothing.

He looked at Xylia and said wholeheartedly, “Xylia, about what happened before–if you don’t want to talk about it, I won’t press you. But please remember, we are family, and family should always support and help one another.”

Xylia knew that Kaden was worried about her.

However, she did not wish to recall that failed marriage anymore.

She smiled at Kaden. “You don’t need to worry about me, Kaden. I’m already divorced from him, and I’m no longer the Xylia I used to be. They can’t hurt me now.”

Kaden then asked, “If I had not gone down just now, what would you have done?”

Xylia said with a smile, “I knew you woulde down.”

Actually, Kaden had not expected Xylia to respond in this manner.

Xylia let out a sigh, her voice soft. “Kaden, please rest assured. Should I encounter any genuine difficulties, I will seek your help.”

Since the discussion had reached this point, Kaden had nothing further to say.

As long as Xylia gradually integrated into the Sadler family’s life and was able to try to rely on him and his other brothers, that would be sufficient.

After a brief conversation with Kaden, Xylia left the Sadler Group.

Over the following days, she and Zayn were busy with studio matters.

After Josie finished her business in Jupiton, she came to Norhill to see Xylia.

Her opening statement was, “Include me as a technical shareholder in

    Josie nodded solemnly.

    your studio.”

Xylia was incredulous. “With your level of ability, you’d have plenty of offers even if you stayed in the country. So why are you hanging around with a small fry like me?”
