Tessa was dressed infortable loungewear and had a natural face, already exuding the image of the mistress of the house.

Xylia frowned as she looked at her, “Why are you here?”

Tessa was holding a ss of milk. She smiled as she looked at Xylia. “I came to bring you something to eat. Connor left for the office so early and didn’t even bring you anything to eat. What if you get hungry?”

She handed the milk to Xylia. Xylia didn’t take it, simply staring at her coldly.

Tessa seemed to realize something suddenly, pulling her hand back with a surprised exmation. “Oh no, I forgot, you’re allergic to milk. So I guess you’ll just have to go hungry.”

Tessa sneered and threw the ss at Xylia.

Xylia, still dazed, couldn’t react in time and was sshed with milk.

The cup shattered when it hit the floor, sending ss fragments flying. One of them scraped her exposed lower leg, and blood started to flow.

Xylia bent down in pain, clutching her calf. The sweet, pungent scent filled her nostrils. It was honey.

Tessa walked up to Xylia and casually pushed aside her loose hair. The kiss marks on her neck were now fully visible to Xylia.

“When I arrivedst night, Connor was drinking. He got drunk and kept saying my name,” Tessa said.

She looked at Xylia with a provocative expression. “Xylia, you’ve had Connor all these years. Isn’t it time you gave him back to me?”

“What?” Xylia scoffed. She stood up and faced Tessa. “When you came back to the Schultz family, Qadir couldn’t wait to break off his engagement with me and marry you. Connor proposed to meter.”

Tessa’s voice became sharp. “You’re the one who’s monopolized him!”

She looked like a madwoman now, grabbing Xylia’s hand. Her dislike was no longer concealed. “I’m the true heiress of the Schultz family. You stole my identity and enjoyed eighteen years of wealth and privilege. All of that belongs to me.

“My parents are mine, my brother is mine, Qadir is mine, and Connor is mine. Everything you have should rightfully be mine.” Tessa screamed with rare rage, her expression twisted.

Xylia stared at her in disbelief, feeling a mix of amusement and pity. She pulled her hand away from Tessa’s grip. “If I could, I’d rather never have been a Schultz.”

Tessa sneered at Xylia. “Someone as greedy as you could never resist the Schultz family’s money. You married Connor because he’s the heir to Ford Group, didn’t you?”

Xylia felt it wasn’t worth exining herself further, so she stayed silent, focusing on the open basement door. Her mind was racing, looking for a way to escape.

Tessa, secing Xylia’s silence, assumed she’d hit a nerve, and her contempt grew.

Just as she was about to say something, Xylia suddenly bent down and threw the musty nket from the floor over Tessa’s head. “What is this?”

As Tessa struggled with the nket, Xylia dashed for the door. Though her head was fuzzy, her body moved with sharp focus.

She made it to the living room, only to spot Sonny standing by the TV. “How did you get out?” he asked, looking displeased.

Xylia wasn’t in the mood to argue with him. Since Connor wasn’t home, she had to seize the opportunity to escape. She ran quickly toward the front door.

“Don’t leave!” Sonny immediately called for the servants, who tried to grab Xylia. She dodged them, but she managed to reach the front door and open it.

Just as she was about to escape, a bodyguard standing at the door seized her.

At that moment, Tessa emerged from the basement. Her twisted, cold expression froze when she saw Sonny. She quickly forced a stiff smile.

“Sonny, I brought breakfast to your mom. She didn’t eat it and even hit me, then took the chance to run. If she escapes, your father will be angry when hees back,” Tessa said.

Sonny ran nervously up to Tessa. “Are you hurt?”

Tessa pressed her forehead and smoothed her messy hair. “I’m fine.”

Sonny’s anger red, and he turned to the bodyguards holding Xylia. “You’re really going too far. Tessa was worried you’d be hungry and brought you breakfast, and not only did you refuse, you hit her.

“Dad was right–if someone like you isn’t punished, you’ll never learn.”

Sonny, showing his authority, nced at the bodyguards. “Take her back to the basement and don’t feed her today.”

The bodyguards obeyed, dragging Xylia back to the basement. Xylia was struggling. When she saw Tessa’s proud smile, an unsettling feeling crept up her spine.

Back in the basement, her body waspletely drained of strength. As soon as the bodyguards let go of her, she copsed to the floor.

The basement door mmed shut, and the room was once again swallowed by darkness. Despair filled her, and she felt like there was no way out.

Suddenly, she heard the sound of “buzz, buzz, buzz“. The sweet, honeyed scent from the milk and honey on her clothes filled her nostrils, and she finally understood what Tessa was nning.

She hurriedly took off the dress she was wearing. But before she could finish, sharp pain shot through her arm and shoulder.

She gritted her teeth, trembling as she threw the clothes aside, the buzzing sound slowly fading away.

She made her way to the door, and as soon as she turned on the light, a horrifying scene greeted her.

Large wasps were gathered around her clothes, which were soaked in milk and honey. A few flew in the air, and not far from them, there was a wasp nest on the floor.

Xylia’s eyes widened in fear as she shrank into the corner, her skin exposed, d only in her underwear. The smell of honey and milk lingered on her skin, and the wasps slowly drifted toward her.

Her arm and shoulder, still stinging from the earlier bites, were hurting intensely.

Terrified, she quickly rummaged through a box in the corner, finding two discarded garments, which she hastily threw over her body.

The smell of mildew almost made her vomit. The wasps, however, no longer approached her.

She crouched in the corner, her entire body trembling as tears slowly slid down her face.
