Tricked 93

Tessa led Xylia to the long table and had her sit down. When she let go, Xylia noticed red marks on her arm from where Tessa had pinched her.

“Xylia, I watched the livestream. I can’t believe, after all these years, that Nova’s family is still holding a grudge against you.”

The woman with pink hair sitting across from Xylia was dressed in a mini skirt. Her face was attractive but somewhat unnerving, as though she’d had cosmetic work done.

Xylia thought for a long time but couldn’t recall who this person was.

The pink–haired woman looked at Xylia with a mocking smile. “You don’t recognize me?”

    Xylia shook her head.

The mocking tone in the woman’s voice became more evident as she flicked her hair back. “Well, you’ve been a housewife for all these years and never came to a single ss reunion. It’s understandable that you don’t recognize us.”

She then turned to the group of ssmates. “Everyone, it seems Ms. Schultz has forgotten about us. Why don’t we each introduce ourselves to her?”

She turned back to Xylia, smiling. “My name is Analia Ruiz. You’d better remember it.”

Upon hearing the name, Xylia finally remembered. Analia was the youngest daughter of the Ruiz family, who made their fortune in real estate. She transferred into the high school midway.

Analia was arrogant, relying on her family’s wealth. She had even led the group in bullying Nova, which caused a major conflict between them over the Nova incident.

Next, Frankie cheerfully introduced himself to Xylia. “I’m Frankie Harding, I’m the one who organizes these ss reunions.”

The rest of the group introduced themselves one by one. Finally, Analia looked at Xylia. “Ms. Schultz, now you know everyone, right?” She gave a slight, mocking smile, and her eyes showed obvious disdain.

    Xylia frowned slightly.

Tessa, meanwhile, smiled and stirred the pot. “Xylia knows you all. After all, she has been Mrs. Ford for so many years, so familyes first. It’s perfectly understandable that she doesn’t remember people she hasn’t seen in ages.”

Analia scoffed in disdain. “What’s there to be proud of? In the end, you’re still just a housewife, dressed so poorly. Looks like Connor doesn’t love you that much. I remember that Connor and Tessa were pretty close, right?

“That’s right. Tessa’s beautiful and kind. Unlike some people, who stole someone else’s identity, enjoyed a few good years.”

Xylia looked at Analia and smiled. “Recently, due to policy changes, the real estate industry has been struggling. Instead of worrying about me, maybe you should think about what you’ll do in the future.”

Analia mmed the table, ring fiercely at Xylia. “You bitch, how dare you say that?”

“And what does my business have to do with you?” Xylia retorted.

Analia was left speechless by Xylia’s response. Xylia stared at her without backing down.

Tessa grabbed Xylia’s arm and smiled, “Xylia, it was just a joke. Did you really take it seriously?”

She turned back to Analia, exining for Xylia. “Analia, Xylia just divorced Connor yesterday. She’s in a bad mood, so please don’t be too hard on her.”

The room fell silent for a moment before an uproar erupted.

“Divorce?” Analia looked at Xylia and mocked, “I thought after all these years as a housewife, taking such good care of your husband, you wouldn’t get dumped. Who would’ve thought you still got dumped?

“Well, seeing you show up in such shabby clothes, you probably didn’t get anypensation after the divorce. How pitiful.”

Analia spoke of pity, but her eyes held no sympathy.

Some of the ssmates, who had respected Xylia earlier, now looked at her with cold eyes after hearing about

    her divorce with Connor.

“Hey, Tessa, I’ve always thought you and Connor were a better match. He treats you so well–maybe he actually likes you,” Analia added.

Tessa quickly defended herself, “Enough, Analia. Connor and I are just good friends.”

“You may see Connor as a close friend, but he might not feel the same way about you,” Analia teased.

Xylia listened as the others teased Tessa, remaining silent the entire time.

Analia, growing bored, waved her hand dismissively and set a wine bottle on the table. “Alright, alright. We’re here to have fun, not gossip. Let’s y a game of Truth or Dare.”

Analia ced the bottle on the table and pressed her finger on it. “I’ll spin the bottle, and whoever it points to will have to ept a punishment. We’ll alle up with the punishment together.”

“Agreed!” No one had any objections.

Analia began to spin the bottle, her eyesnding on Xylia, then on Frankie, who was sitting next to her. She tapped the bottle with a little force, making it spin slowly.

The bottle spun four or five times before stopping, pointing directly at Frankie.

Everyone started to cheer. Frankie smiled and looked at Analia. “Go ahead, what punishment should I take?”

Analia thought for a moment, then grinned. “How about this, kiss the person to your right passionately for ten

    minutes.”

The person sitting to Frankie’s right was Xylia. Upon hearing Analia’s suggestion, Xylia’s expression darkened.

The others eagerly agreed with Analia’s proposal, encouraging Frankie. “Frankie, you liked Xylia in high school, and now here’s your chance.”

“Don’t mess around,” Frankie said, though his eyes lingered on Xylia’s full lips, a slight warmth rising in his chest. But he stayed rational. “We can y games, but not too much.”

“Too rigid!” Analia scoffed. “If you don’t go all in, how can it be fun? And Xylia, you’ve been married, don’t tell me you can’t even kiss? Or is it that, even after your divorce, you want to stay faithful to Connor?”

Tessa looked at Xylia with a triumphant smile. “Xylia, it’s just a game. Don’t be a coward, okay?”

“If you were sitting in my ce, would you kiss a stranger for the game?” Xylia said.

When Xylia said “stranger,” Frankie’s expression subtly changed.

Analia smiled, adding, “If Tessa were sitting there, the punishment would change. Frankie would have to kiss the person sitting next to Tessa for ten minutes.”

Xylia’s temper red. “This game isn’t fun. You guys y it yourselves.”

She grabbed her bag, ready to leave, but Tessa grabbed her arm. “Xylia, the game isn’t over yet. Where are you going?”

The others surrounded Xylia, urging Frankie to act.

“Frankie, you won’t even y the game?” someone said.

“You couldn’t get a date in high school, and now you’re too scared to y?” someone else said.

“Frankie, you’re such a coward!” another person said.

Frankie’s face turned livid with anger. He grabbed Xylia’s wrist tightly,
