I help the group by creating some bare essentials and upgrading their homes. When I’m satisfied with my efforts, I organize for Ss to meet with me in seven moons’ time to discuss how they’re doing. I also tell him that if theye in contact with other groups, to have them send two leaders from their group toe and see me. This way, there shouldn’t be any rivalry or thieving. I’m equally surprised and delighted by how the creatures act around me when I finish. They no longer cower and keep their heads low. They still show respect, but it’s as if I’ve earned it out of gratitude, not forced it out of fear. Everyone who has served their punishment will be rewarded with the tools to survive. I’m exhausted by the time I transport back to the mortal realm, and luckily for me, it’s still night and my mates are still sleeping, so I crawl between them and fall asleep.
“It’s weird she’s still asleep.” I hear Noah say softly.
“So wake her up!” Haiden says.
“Don’t you dare wake her up. She’s clearly fucking exhausted.” Xavier whispers.
“I agree with him.” Levi joins the conversation, and I peek one eye open.
“I’m awake.” I croak out, rolling onto my back and stretching with a yawn.
“You can go back to sleep if you’re tired, little mate.” Xavier sits on the side of the bed, brushing some hair out of my face. “We didn’t mean to wake you.”
“I did.” Haiden jumps on the other side and kisses me quickly on the mouth before showing off his pearly whites as he smiles down at me. “I was missing you.”
“She didn’t go anywhere, you moron.” Levi spits at him.
“Actually, I did.” I croak out before clearing my throat. The statement caught the full attention of my
mates as they all tilted their heads curiously like little pups.
“I went back to the underworldst night.”
“By yourself? Why didn’t you wake one of us? We would havee with you.” Xavier’s eyebrows furrow
together.
“I know you would have,” I squeeze his hand. “I just wanted to get some things sorted so we could all start on a more organised basis there,” I quickly conjure up the four tablets for each of them and pass them out.
“What are these, Luna?” Noah asks, flipping it over and back, for some sort of a clue.”
“Clearly it’s a tablet,” Haiden says.
“Clearly,” Noah grumbles. “But for what?”
2:55 pm
“I digitized the underworld. So now we can get updates and take them with us easily, no matter which realm or space we’re in. Xavier, yours will update all the new deaths automatically. You scroll through the details, check them off as you go, and Haiden will receive an update on a new soul to greet and ce. Haiden can then mark off where that soul has been ced, and Levi can be updated on souls that need to be assessed and can update with their cement from there. Then, finally, Noah will be updated on new souls to be taken to the basement, which room, and who they will be assigned to for their punishments.”
They all curiously look through their tablets for a few minutes before looking back at me.
“This is amazing, doll.” Levi praises, followed by the others with their own sweet words, making me blush.
“The whole paperwork thing was just super outdated, and I figured with us traveling between realms that it would be the easiest way to keep track of it all.”
“There’s quite a backlog, isn’t there?” Xavier takes a long breath.
“Yep. Quite a few are still in the Red Moon Pack, too. I know we’re supposed to start at the bottom of the list, but I think it’d be a bit creepy to see souls looping around while we’re up here trying to be normal…”
“I’ll get those done today, little mate.” He says with a kiss to my cheek.
“That’s sweet of you, but we can do them together.”
He raises his eyebrow at me. “Oh yeah, by the way, I can do all the stuff you guys can do. I yed around with everything for a bitst night, figuring it out. Met some of the workers, wandered the pce, oh, and the outside. Apparently, some souls reside outside that are known as the forgotten. They served their punishments but didn’t qualify to leave the underworld, so they were permitted to reside there, but they weren’t given any tools or anything; they were just tossed outside. So I made them some homes and gave them a few things, and we’re going to meet once a week to go over how things are running.” I ramble out.
“That is quite a lot,” Noah says thoughtfully.
“You must be hungry,” Levi says.
“Starving!” I groan out, throwing my head back onto the pillow.
“We’ll get some food and bring it up, as we’ve definitely missed breakfast,” Xavier instructs the guys.
“I’ll stay here and keep our girlpany,” Haiden says, shooing them off as he snuggles into my neck, making me giggle.
“There’s my happy girl…you know, now that you have a hellhound and all…maybe you could mark me?” He
winks.
“Maybe I could…Maybe I could make you work for it as well.” I return the wink, and he holds his heart in
mock hurt.
2:55 pm
“Oh no, whatever will I do. Maybe I’ll beg on my knees. Is that what you want, love? You want me on my
knees?”
Fuck…put him on his knees, girl, or I will! Layah pleads in my mind, practically drooling.
“Well, that depends…” I say slowly, running my finger down his bare chest and watching him shiver with
need.
“On what?” He asks excitedly.
“Do you look pretty on your knees?”
His eyes roll into the back of his head dramatically as he moans. “Fuck yeah, I do, love.”
