Chapter 144 Amalic
I wake up back in the room, all alone. I look around the room in growing horror. I am leaning against the wall where the door had been. The room ispletely void of everything, just how I left it.
“No! You can’t keep me here!” I scream as I turn around and m my hand against the wall. “You have no right to keep me locked up here you bitch! Do you here me! You are a bitch, and I wish that you would die in a ditch somewhere!”
I stand up and start pacing the room. I take a deep breath to try and calm myself down. Screaming and losing my head is not going to get me anywhere. But I can’t seem to calm down.
My mind might be trapped here, but my body is safe with my mates. I can take somefort in that.
Goddess, why is she trapping my mind here when my body is somewhere else? What good does it do her?
I continue to pace the room. Moving about seems like a better option than sitting still and screaming.
There’s a noise that draws my attention. I turn and find a tray of food sitting in the middle of the floor.
“What? You think I am going to trust you? You lock me in here and then give me food! I bet it is poisoned!” I shout at the ceiling, hoping that Francesca can here me.
“It’s not poisoned,” Francesca says as she appears in the room. “But I do hope that you were able to say goodbye to those you love.”
“You can’t keep me here forever,” I growl. I really wish Beren was here, so I had someone with me.
“You still don’t get it,” she cackles as she summons a chair. She sits on it like it is a throne. “I control this realm. You are trapped here until I say
otherwise.”
I growl at her but keep my distance.
“Even if you are able to escape, the next time you fall asleep, I will just summon your mind right back here,” Francesca says simply. “Face it dear, you are trapped here.”
“Fine, so I’m trapped. What is your big n then?” I demand.
Shezily summons a drink and takes a long sip from her goblet. Francesca’s eyes narrow at me over the goblet.
Things click into ce. “You need me to agree to something. What do you need me to agree to?” I demand.
“Dear, you think that you have everything all figured out. But the poor little puppy is in over her head,” she scoffs.
“So, what if I am? You drag me here and pretend to be my friend. You are trying to get me to trust you, but for what? Why note to me years ago when I was trapped in Thomas and Marie’s basement! I suffered at their hands for years. You could havee then, and I would have trusted you!” I scream as I try to understand everything.
“Those sted goddesses interfered!” Francesca screams as she stands up. Her hand wraps around my throat, she backs me up, mming me against the
wall.
I choke out a gasp at the m and the fact that I can no longer breath.
“I have been trying to capture a white wolf for centuries! Every time I find one, Selene or Hecate interfere! They protect the sted wolf from me! But not you,” she shouts as she throws me to the floor.
I scramble away from her to put distance between us. She doesn’t seem to care as I get away from her.
“No, I tracked down a seer. She told me where I would be able to find the next white wolf. I found you. A few words whispered in the right ears, and you were ostracized from your pack,” she sneers down at me.
My mind is reeling from the information. Two goddesses were trying to protect me. A seer saw my birth and that I was a white wolf.
Chapter 144 Amalie
“You were ripe for the pickings. I had finally had you. The spells Hecate casted to protect you, I had found a way around them. But then your father tried to kill you, he took his dislike for you too far. He almost killed you, and your mates found you,” she shouts at me like this is all my fault. She picks up and throws her goblet against the wall, shattering it.
“Hecate?” I ask tentatively..
“Our goddess for witches. She has always feared me. Feared what I would be with the right rituals. She has worked closely with Selene to thwart me. But here you are, in the end I still won,” sheughs as stalks closer to me.
I scramble away from her again.
“My mind is here, but not my body,” I say with false bravado as I hit a wall.
“True, but you see, I have many allies. A few rogues will be able to find you,” she says dismissively. She then pauses as if in thought. “I wonder what they would do to a pretty female that is unable to fight back?”
I feel sick at the implications of what she says. I know that there is a good chance that if she sends rogues to collect my body, they will take advantage. Most rogues are not chivalrous. They won’t care if my body is limp or not.
“Calyx and Markus will not let a rogue near me,” I growl. I know that they will protect my body as much as they can, but in an attack, who knows what will happen.
“We shall see,” Francesca says as she disappears.
I am left alone again in this sted room. I want to scream in frustration and fear. I want to go home and live a normal life. I don’t want to be special.
I re at the te of food as if it has personally offended me. I sit and stare at the te for who knows how long.
I am winning the staring contest when the wall behind me disappears.
I stifle a scream as I fall backwards.
“Easy Luna,” Daniel says as he steadies me.
I scramble to me feet and stare at the rogue who had escaped. “What are you doing?” I demand. He is supposed to be gathering information for Cal not rescuing me.
“I need to get you out of here,” he tells me as he steps into the room, The wall seals up behind him.
I re at him and then at the wall.
“Here,” he says as he puts a ne on me.
I pick up the medallion to look at it. “What is it?”
I have a friend who opposes the Countess. She can’t do it in the open, but in ways behind her back. She created that when it became clear that she would try to keep your subconscious here,” Daniel exins. “This will keep your mind from ending up back here.”
I nod in understanding. “How do I get out of here though?” I ask.
“Like this,” Daniel says as he throws something at my feet.
