Chapter 82 Calyx


    We are back in the meeting hall. This time, Rose has been attached to my hip or Markus’s. We are not letting her out of sight of reach. Rose has been content to stay with one of us. She is right now snuggled into Mark’s neck, refusing to say anything to anyone.


    A few pack members have approached us and tried to mingle. Rose just shies away from anyone who wants to touch her. Not that I can me her after the disaster that happened at thest pack meeting.


    “Oh, look at you,” Gretchen coos as she walks up to us. Her mate following behind her.


    Rose perks up at the voice. She turns and spots Gretchen walking towards her. “Grandma!” Rose screams happily. She maneuvers her way out of Mark’s grip and is running the few feet to Gretchen.


    Gretchenughs and picks up our pup. She swings Rose up onto her hip to look at her. “You look so pretty,” she


    Coos.


    “Aunty, got me,” Rose tells her excitedly. She then takes notice of the male behind Gretchen. “Who he?” she asks as she points at the male..


    “This is my mate,” Gretchen says as she turns so Rose can see her mate.


    “Hello little one, my name is Robert,” he smiles as he introduces himself.


    Rose seems to be stuck between being bashful and wanting to introduce herself.


    I’m about to say something, when an Allison, one of our elders, joins our group. “So, you are finally announcing your Luna,” she smirks as she takes a drink of champagne.


    “We had tried to announce herst week,” Mark sighs.


    “Well, betterte than never,” she smirks. “So where is the Luna?”


    “She is getting ready with Vickie,” I say as I scan the sea of faces. Vickie had mind linked me that they were ready and on their way.


    “Goddess above, help our poor Luna,” Allisonughs.


    I smirk at that thought.


    ‘We’re here,‘ Vickie tells me through the link.


    I look over at Markus, he is mind linking someone. I turn back towards Gretchen and her mate. “Hey, little petal, your mom is here,” I tell her,ing up with a new nickname on the spot.


    “She here!” Rose states excitedly.


    “Yep, so we need to go get into ce so she can be let into the hall,” Mark says as he opens is arms.

    Rose lets out a squeal of delight andunches herself into his arms. He easily ces her on his hip and starts for the back of the room. Rose is giggling the whole time.


    “I will have Ama find you after we make the announcement,” I tell Gretchen.


    “Nonsense, let her have her moment. I will find her at some point,” Gretchen dismisses me. She then links her arms with her mates and pulls him off into the crowd.


    1 shake my head before I follow after my brother and pup. When we reach the speaking tform, at the back of the room, I turn to address the room. “Thank you everyone foring tonight,” I start. “I know we had tried to do thisst Friday, but due toplications, we had put off on introducing our Luna.”


    Mark steps forward, with Rose on his hip. “We are very thankful for everyone’s patience and understanding. Thisst month and a half have been very trying for us,” Markus says.


    “We will address concerns and rumors at a different pack meeting,” I continue, cutting off people from asking questions.


    “For tonight is about us reintroducing you all to your Luna,” he states.


    “Please join us,” I say.


    “In weing,” Mark smirks.


    We both then announce, “Amalie Marie Remington.”


    The double doors to the meeting hall open widely. Ama stands there with Vickie, Jimmy, and Sam behind her.


    My brain short–circuits at the sight of our mate. She is gorgeous in her floor length red dress. Her hair is halfway up with curls flowing around her head. Her makeup looks wless. With smoky eyes and red lips. Amalie is the most beautiful creature to ever walk this.


    Zviad is purring at the sight of her. He wants to be let out so he can go receive attention from her.


    I offer a quick nce at Markus; he’s not doing any better. In fact, his mouth is wide open as he stares at our


    mate.


    Ama then starts towards us. The crowd of pack members part before her. She walks with confidence and poise of a queen towards where we are waiting.


    There are hushed whispers from our pack members. But for now, I tune them out. Nothing else matters but our beautiful mate.


    Amalie is almost to us, when Rose can no longer contain her excitement. She gets herself free from Mark’s grasp and onto the floor. “Mommy!” Rose shouts as she runs as fast as her little legs can carry her.


    Amalie stops and waits for Rose to get to her. She kneels down and opens her arms. When Rose smashes into her, Ama wraps her arms around our daughter andughs. She then swings Rose upon her hip. She then continues to walk towards us. She looks even more powerful now that she has Rose clinging to her.

    She finally reaches us, I know it has taken to long. She steps up onto the tform. Ama turns to look out at our pack members. I im her lips first. At the moment, I don’t care who is watching or how long we kiss.


    “My turn, Mark hisses at me through the mind link.


    1 break the kiss and re at my younger twin.


    He looks entirely unapologetic as he kisses Ama next.


    I roll my eyes and use this time to snag Rose from Amalie. Rose is content to sit in my arms.


    When Mark and Ama finally break their kiss, cheers follow. I make eye contact with Vickie, Jimmy, our uncles, Gretchen and few others. They are cheering the loudest for Amalie.
