Chapter 65 <b>Calyx </b>


    Calyx


    We had been paying close attention to Ama’s emotions all day. She had been on a roller coaster of emotions all day. Sam had checked in regrly, plus giving us details when Vickie and Ama took off for a run, away from Sam. She had finally woken up yesterday. It waste afternoon on Monday. Mark and I did not want to have anyone else pick–up Ama from the hospital. But with the influx of mind links about Ama, we couldn’t.


    As much as we wanted to be there for Ama to get her out of the hospital, the pack was in an uproar. Mind links filled in from curious and frantic pack members. Our opportunity to show off Ama had backfired into a spectacle and stage. Pack members had been filing in and out of our office all morning as they demanded answers. Each time we answered one question, another pack member had three more.


    Mark was showing his stressed smile. Most could not tell that he was about to snap in the next hour. I on the other hand, was a time bomb that was going to snap at the next question. If another pack member demanded to know why we would pick an outsider over our Gamma’s sister, Zviad and I were going to rip that member’s head


    off.


    “Okay, we will answer everyone’s questions at Thursday’s pack meeting,” Mark says, still faking cheerfulness. He makes eye contact with me and gives me a look.


    I, in turn, mind link the pack. ‘No more questions today. Both in person and over the mind link. We will exin everything on Thursday,‘ I order.


    “Alphas, you two were not here at the pack house yesterday or during this weekend. We have questions,” She whines. She is an omega that works here in the pack house.


    “Enough,” Michelle says with a re at her subordinate. Goddess bless our head omegas for the pack house and the hospital. “Get back to the kitchen and get lunch goin,” she orders with a re.


    “But, but, you are not the Alpha,” she whines.


    Goddess, when did most of the adults in our pack be worse than the pups? They are whining and acting out. What on Earth did our father do to run this pack? Was he trying to destroy us?


    1 growl at her, Zviad and I leak our aura, and she shuts up. She scurries from the room. Her head down.


    “What ya two want for lunch?” Michelle asks us with a sigh. She is still ring at the doorway that She had just walked out trough.


    “We’re good,” I say, trying not to growl in annoyance.


    “Oh no boys, I have known ya since the day ya were born. I was here workin the pack house when your mama brought ya home,” she sass’s me.


    “A couple of sandwiches would be great Aunt Michelle,” Mark says with a sigh.


    “Sure, thing boys,” she says as she leaves our office.


    Chapter 65 Calyx


    “Who knew running a pack would be this hard,” I sigh as I lean back in my chair.


    Markughs at me, I knew he agreed with me. “Gretchen and Michelle are a goddess send. What would we do without them?” Markughs.


    “Crash and burn,” Jamesughs as he plops down on the couch..


    “How’s the pack?” I ask as I go back to studying a report in front of me.


    “Confused and in an uproar over the previous Gamma’s treatment. I’ve tried to talk to people but, they demand answers from you two,” he sighs.


    “Cause people love drama,” Mark sighs. This gets the three of us thinking in silence.


    “Here ya boys go,” Michelle says as she carries in the tes for my twin and I.


    “What about me?” Jamesughs.


    “Suga, there is food down in kitchen,” she smirks at James.


    “I see how it is. Let your poor Beta starve to death,” James says as he ces his hand over his chest.


    “Dramatic,” sheughs as she walks from our office.


    “Well, I’m hungry so I’m going for food,” Jamesughs as he gets up and follows Michelle.


    “This is why he is still single,” I tell Mark with an eye roll.


    “Of course, it has nothing to do with the fact that him, Sam, and Nick all said that they would not date or go out of their way to find their mates until we got Ama back,” Mark tells me with an eye roll as he digs into his lunch.


    I’m about to retort when Sam mind links me. ‘I’m going to kill Vickie,‘ he growls at me.


    ‘What did she do now?‘ I ask, amusement can be heard over the link.


    ‘She is taking Amalie to the woods so they can go for a run!‘ Sam shouts.


    My sandwich falls from my hands. ‘What?‘


    “Dude, what’s wrong?” Mark asks me in confusion.


    ‘Vickie just took off with Ama towards the woods. They want to let their wolves out for a run. I’m following, but Vickie is refusing to listen. I tried to order her to stop. Ama superseded my order!‘ Sam tells me. Frustration and


    irritation are heard in his voice.


    I’m proud that Ama is standing up for what she wants. But Zviad and I are pissed that she decided to do that now, It’s dangerous for her to be out and until we know more about her being a white wolf, the world can’t know about her. To make matters worse, Devin and the other Alphas know she is a white wolf. ‘We are on our way,‘ I tell him as I stand up.

    Mark stands as well and follows me, “Please tell me what is going on. Ama is excited and irritated. Vickie is blocking me,” Mark says, he has desperation in his tone.


    “Ama and Vickie are going to the woods to run,” I tell him as we walk through the pack house. Pack members <i>try </i>to get us to stop, but we ignore them. I have more import things to worry about.
