Chapter 33 Calyx

Markus was pacing our office when I arrived. Whatever it was, he was very agitated. He did not stop his pacing on I shout the dun and sat at the desk. We will need to get another desk in here for the both of us. This way, we could both be wet together

“What’s wrong?” I grow as I am unable to focus.

Mark stopped short and whirled around to confront me. “Rose called me dad!” Markus shooted to she. Panic wasring his same

    “What?” I asked in confusion.

“Rose called me dad, twice,” he said. He was still panicking, but I was able to understand him now.

“Okay,” I tell him. Was I jealous of Mark being called dad already, yes. But I knew Rose liked to spend more time with him.

“Okay? Okay! That’s all you can say? Okay! Dude this is Ama’s pup! What if she doesn’t want us to be considered Rose’s fathers What if this pushes Ama away from us? Dude, she could run because we are forcing ourselves into her and Rose’s lives. I can’t ne without Amalie and Rose!” Markus shouted at me as he continued to pace.

“Calm down,” I order. I try to stop my own thoughts from spiraling. Goddess, what would happen if Anta got scared and took off. “Okay, we will need to talk with Ama about this.”

“Calm down! That’s all you can say!” Mark shouted as he stopped pacing again.

“Yes, now tell me what happened,” I tell him to try and get him from spiraling.

“Last night, when I got back to Uncle Mike’s I put Rose to bed. She had called me dad as I put her to bed. I just assumed she did it as she was tired. Then this morning as I was telling her bye, she called me dad in front of Uncle Mike,” he exined.

“What did you tell Rose?” I ask, trying to get a picture of what happened.

“I panicked! I told her bye again and ran out the door,” Mark said as he slumped down to the couch. “What if Rose hates me now? What if she never calls me dad? What if Ama hates me?”

“Stop spiraling,” Zviad ordered as he pushed forward. I am unable to keep Zviad quiet.

“Ama is not going to hate you. She might be ufortable until we talk about this. We’re not sweeping it under the rug. Next, Rose doesn’t hate you. When I saw her at the hospital she was just fine,” I tell him. Rose did not act out of the ordinary or upset that Mark was acting different.

‘Get your asses to the hospital!‘ James shouts to us through the mind link.

‘What’s wrong?‘ I demand as I focus on James instead of a panicking Mark.

‘It’s Amalie! She’s having a panic attack,‘ he tells us.

‘What do you mean a panic attack? We would have felt it through the bond if she was having a panic attack,‘ Ma breathing is hard.

I make eye contact with him and realize that the amount of panic I was feeling was not just my own. I could feel Markus and Amalie spiraling. ‘Shit, we’re on our way,‘ I say and cut the link. “Get your emotions under control before you leave this room,” I order

    Mark.

He takes several deep breaths, trying to calm himself down. I can feel Aziz fighting for control. With Mark spiraling, Aziz would he better in control, Mark would be forced to the back and so would his emotions. “I am fine, I can freak out <bter,” he says as he takes

a deep breath and lets it out slowly.

I give him a nod and I take off running. I hear Mark behind me. We make it out the door before letting our wolves take over. Our wolves force a shift mid run, and we continue on our way to the hospital.

One of the nurses are waiting at the door with it open. We run through the halls towards Ama’s hospital room. James stands with the door open to Ama’s room. Uncle William is standing over Ama. Gretchen is off to the side holding Rose as she cries. The room is pure chaos as we slide to a stop in the room. It was small already, and with the two of us, it’s cramped and has no walking room. Zviad and Aziz rest their heads on Amalie’s bed.

Uncle William has an empty syringe in his hand. He looks at me and states, “Zviad you have to calm her down. I gave her a diazepam injection. Beren and Amalie are fighting it and will cause major damage if not calmed down.”

“Sleep little one,” Zviad orders to Amalie and Beren.

In seconds, they are asleep. Ama’s chest rises and falls slows down to a peaceful rhythm. We all let out sighs of relief as she calms

    down.

“What happened?” I demand as we both shift back to human.

James throws a nket over each of us. “Rose was showing us her pictures,” James tells us.

“That shouldn’t have set her off,” Mark says in confusion as he wraps the nket around himself.

“Goddess, Rose said something about daddy says she cane home,” James said as he remembers Rose’sment.

Mark chokes and stops what he was doing. “She called me daddy?” Markus asks in disbelief. He looks around the room for Rose.

“Gretchen has her. When you two barreled in here, she left to give you room and to calm Rose down,” Uncle William says.

Mark nods his head and then walks out of the room. I know he’s going to find Rose and hold her. I want to growl in jealousy. I’ve missed out on time with Rose and they have a connection that I don’t have.
