Sienna’s POV
Noah’s face became too serious to hold his father’s hand while he said, “Deal!”
Without realizing the truth, I just smiled. It had that enticing feeling of being with such close, warm hands once again, without the invisible distance between us.
The onlynguage Liam knew was silence, and he would be stiff in the mornings. Nevertheless, the barrier between us had started to crumble gradually.
He finished onest cup of coffee and then looked back at me. “If you ever want to go on a vacation, I’ll take you to the airport.”
I gazed upwards, taken aback but relieved. “Let’s go with you?”
With a stoic expression, he smiled softly. “No. My sole desire is for you to leave with a sense of tranquility. That’s all.”
I nodded softly. “Thank you.”
“Noah wants to take Mommy too!” Noah’s voice filled with delight. “I’ll give you the biggest hug before we depart.”
My lips softened as I smiled at him. “Let’s just leave that hug, okay?”
I hooked my pinky and he said, “I assure you.”
Noah was able to wear his shoes after I had finished his breakfast. With his work bag, Liam departed from the room. Even though he was always struggling with morning routine, his face looked fresh.
“Noah, let’s go. It’s time for school,” he said, gesturing over to our son.
Standing straight ahead, Noah was embracing his little blue backpack with enthusiasm. “Dad, where are we headed?” With a smile on his face, he announced that Mommy had made lunch and showed me my dinosaur- themed lunchbox.
The cor of his uniform caught my attention and I chuckled. “diligent school yeah, sweetheart. Don’t forget to have your lunch.”
“Yes, Mommy,” he quickly hugged me and ran towards Liam. The boy was so warm.
At the door, I observed them for a brief moment and felt warm air bubble up in my chest when they stood together. Although Noah looked tiny, the way he held his father’s hand made me smile brightly. It must have been an awkward moment at that park.
Looking down at his little backpack, I replied with a deep breath, “God, my boy.”
He quickly replied, “All right, everything!” and proceeded to pat it dry. “The list of things included includes my pencils, lunch, and the dinosaur drawing I made yesterday!”
“Miss ra will receive it!”

I had a mildugh. “I’m sure Miss ra will like it.”
With a soft, concerned look, Liam nced at me with pause and remained silent. “Are you sure you didn’t need help cleaning up the table?” his response was.
“I gave myself a smirk.” I smiled. “I can handle it. Moreover, I must be prepared before Liliana arrives.”
His gaze flickered with focus for a moment before he nodded, as though to express his thoughts. Then another thing urred. He took a brief moment to look at Noah. “Let’s get some freedom,” he said. “Late dys will result in terrible traffic conditions once more.”
“Daddy, let’s get moving,” Noah pped his hands together. He yelled, “Get in the car!” and quickly ran towards the entrance.
Liam exchanged a humorous expression, shaking his head. “Put your feet down or you’ll slip.”
I stood there, watching them. The morning sunlight glimmered through the curtains, leaving a warm glow on the floor and Liam and Noah as they ventured outside. My chest felt filled with a peaceful and unwavering feeling from that one moment.
“I’ll take him to school and then head straight to the office,” Liam said, gesturing back.
I nodded. “Drive safely, okay?”
With a gentle reply, “I always do,” but his eyes were softened.
He had a still stare, something that I hadn’t observed in ages.
I went to the yard with them. The morning was still, with the scent of dew and the faint flowery smell from our little garden. The vehicle parked in the driveway. With his tiny hands struggling to open the car door, Noah rushed over and tried to do so himself. Liam helped him, smiling patiently.
With a strange and tender touch, I crouched against the fence and observed them. “Do you have everything?” I inquired.
Liam looked up. “Yeah. Do you think I could take something with me?
My head trembled. “No, it’s not. I could potentially spend the afternoon writing.‘
He replied with a calm demeanor, “Let’s check on youter, Sienna.”
Closer to the gate waving. Noah reacted with approval from inside the car. “Goodbye, Mommy! My new friend will be in my news soon!”
I smiled and gave a wave in response. “Ask for my arrival, dear.”
Liam smiled soft and warm through the car window, yet again, a smile that still made me burst intoughter.
He remarked before starting the engine, “Don’t forget breakfast.”
I softly remarked, “I had already consumed some toast.”
After he nodded, the car slowly emerged from the driveway. Standing around the corner at the end of that street, I watched them disappear.

A brief moment of silence characterized the atmosphere. The only sounds heard were the chirping of birds and the soft footsteps of someone walking by. But in that quiet moment of silence I felt a peace I hadn’t felt for years.
For an extended period, I had not witnessed Liam and Noah being off like this. Previously, I would simply bid farewell from the entrance without conscious notice. Nheless, all moments were precious now. It became a favorite of mine to witness such simple, ordinary mornings.
Looking up, I could see the soft blue sky that was almost like a light bulb. I let my hair get swept up and shut them for a moment. I wished them a good day, whispered my words.
Afterward, I returned to my house with only a small smile on my face. Even though I had a long day ahead, it seemed like the world had finally given me another chance to feel good.
