Sincerity 187

    Sienna’s POV

I slowly gazed upwards, pondering on pertinent matters.

He didn’t answer right away. Just a brief moment, he looked at me and then said, “I feel my gratitude that you are still here with our son.”

The room became quiet, but not the cold or awkward state. I was so disturbed by the silence that I wanted to remain silent, just to let his words drift in the air.

Noah was unsure about the significance of the conversation and so put his hands on the table with a smile. ” Daddy, look! I finished my milk!”

Liam smiled and raised the ss. “That’s really impressive,” he dered. “You can count on Daddy to give you an extra slice of bread for tomorrow.”

“Noah has a strong fondness for bread,” he stated, holding his hands together with joy.

Then Iughed as much, and when my gaze met Liam again the words just popped, “I loved you, there was nothing but a small smile.”

My thoughts had been upied with the question I wanted to ask sincest night. Before addressing, I observed him cutting his toast.

    “Liam.”

He raised an eyebrow and made a slight turn.

My thoughts took a moment to rx. “Are you ready to travel?”

With a nk expression, Liam looked surprised and repeated the question, “Do you mean he has to go on – is that ten–hour trip?”

With a slight frown, I looked down at the toast in my hand. “I’m aware. Liliana has recently emerged victorious in a significant case. She expressed her desire to take us on a vacation.”

Before Liam could respond, Noah pped his hands in excitement. “Disney!” His eyes sparkled as he shouted, I want to go to Disnend.”

He was so exuberant that I couldn’t help but chuckle. “You haven’t still on the adventure, man,” I said, softly brushing his hair with both hands.

“My ultimate goal is to visit Disnend! It includes a parade, balloons, and Mickey Mouse!”

Liam was filled withughter. “Maybe Aunty Liliana should know that Disnend is the only ce she can think of.”

I chuckled and then nced at Liam. “So, are you interested in going?”

Leaning back into his chair and cing his coffee cup, he gave a silent expression. “What’s the reason you were unexpectedly invited by Liliana?”

“ording to her, she desires some time to recharge.”

“Following that major incident, I required tranquility. She desires me toe. Despite everything, she said I also need some time off.” I held my breath as I quietly closed mine. “She suggested I should start living my life like before.”

For a brief moment, Liam was silent. His gaze briefly faded before turning to me. “She’s correct,” he said.

The sound of his voice suddenly struck a chord with me, both gentle and heavy.

“You’re in a difficult position, and I don’t think you can take it.”

I swore, feeling warmth in my chest. “You guys? You know what?”

He gave a slight nod and smiled, “If you’re asking when are you going to take this?”

Noah shook his hands in joy. “Yay!” eximed Noah. “We’re going on vacation! Can you please tell me, Daddy. Am I supposed to bring my big blue suitcase with me?”

I cracked a smile on my lips. “We’re not even aware of our departure, dear. Aunty Liliana is scheduled to provide us with the detailster this afternoon. I’m going to have to pack now!”

Liam looked at me with a smile on his face, and suggested that we prepare for him to bring his suitcase to school.

“I chuckled, with a giggle. That’s his true nature.”

During breakfast, everyoneughed and made lighthearted jokes. As Noah recounted a vacation without settling in, Liam looked at us with an unease and happiness.

I found myself observing him without much of a buzz. Much had changed in Liam’s life. The table was once a ce where mornings were dull and there was nothing but warmth, as it felt like this.

Noah started doodling on a napkin while holding his spoon, as if he were mapping out his dream destination.” Here’s the hotel where I stay, Mommy!” warning children. “The theme park is right here! There’s a roller coaster, Daddy.”

Liam leaned forward and pretended to be serious while studying. “That’s quite detailed. Thank you! Daddy is already terrified of the roller coaster.‘

Noah chuckled. “Don’t be afraid, daddy!” I’ll protect you!”

Iughed. “You’ll protect Daddy? Daddy seems to have a little safeguard in ce.“”

Liam chuckled softly. “A bodyguard and a small boss. I’d better be careful.”

Upon hearing the word “yes,” Noah lifted his chin in delight. “I’m the boss on vacation!”

I advised my little boss to finish breakfast before he could get up by eating toast. “Let’s start with breakfast, because it’ll be the best for us.”

With a smile on his face, Noah chewed and hummed with joy.

The setting was subdued, but beneath theughter, I sensed a subtle yet powerful force, like invisible threads connecting us.

Liam gave me a quiet look. “You’re doing bettertely.” Issuing hugs.

With a slight surprise, I nced at him and asked “Do you believe me?”

He smiled softly. “Yeah. At one point, you seemed exhausted. Your eyes have been lightened up again.”

Looking back at Noah’s half–drunken ss of milk, I muttered. “I suppose now I have happiness in this situation.”

Liam’s expression softened. “I’m pleased to hear that, Sienna.‘

The silence, for a brief moment, became less heavy and more warm with lucid meaning.

After a prolonged silence, Noah suddenly asked if he could choose his own clothes for the journey.

Liam quickly responded with a positive answer, as long as it’s not the same dinosaur shirt that you wore for three days. “OK.”

Noah chuckled appreciably. “But that’s the shirt I was wearing!”

My coffee nearly choked me. “Let’s see him wear it, Liam. Maybe it really brings luck.”

In a moment of mockery, Liam gasped. “Ok, fine, but the dinosaur shirt doesn’t leave the hotel room, okay?”
