Wife Back 179

Michael was still holding Jordan’s hand.

    “Mommy!”

Since Jordan got hurt, Jessica hadn’t seen her for a long time. She didn’t expect Michael to actually bring the child along. Perhaps he thought he couldn’t get much from Jessica, so he wanted to show off by bringing the child.

“Why did you bring Jordan?” Jessica stepped aside.

After all, she was still a child, and her physical condition was quite good. After the car ident, Jordan

had recovered well, but the nanny said Jordan’s temper was getting worse every day, she would get angry even if something was taken by mistake, and sometimes even throw things to the floor.

Michael didn’t pay much attention to Jordan’s upbringing. All he would do was to bring Jordan with him

whenever he needed topete for favor. It did no good to Jordan’s upbringing.

“Jordan hasn’t seen you for a long time. She said she missed you. She originally wanted to call you to

spend the New Year together. She also wanted to be with you, but since you have to go home to keep Lindapany, I didn’t want to waste your time. Some business partners brought me some gifts, so I

thought I’d bring them to you.”

Jessica lowered her head to look.

They had plenty of such things at home, there was no need for Michael to bring any.

    But Jessica still thanked him.

Chris was cutting fruit and about to take it to the living room. When he was passing by, he happened to

    see Michael holding Jordan’s hand.

Originally, there was still a smile on Michael’s face, but when he saw Chris, the smile immediately

disappeared, and even Jordan looked at Michael in disbelief, her big eyes ring at him.

“Why are you at Mommy’s house? I don’t want to see you! Go away!”

Chris smiled faintly and nced at the little girl, then ced the fruit on the table.

He turned around and wiped his hands slowly and deliberately.

“I don’t think I can do that. This is my house!”

Jordan nced at Jessica, “No, this is Mommy’s house! Aunt Sophie said this isn’t your home. You should leave right now!”

Seeing Jordan so stubborn, Michael didn’t even argue. Jessica knew his intention – sure enough,

Michael probably knew that Chris was still with her, so he deliberately brought Jordan over.

In the past, such words could still hurt Chris. Jessica, pretending for appearances, wouldn’t let Michael feel embarrassed, but things were different now.

This time even Jessica didn’t side with Jordan.

Her expression turned much colder, no longer with her usual smile.

“Jordan, you can’t be so rude. He is my husband. You should also call him Uncle Chris or Mr. Green. This is his house too. You and Daddy are the guests here. You can’t make him leave.”

There was disbelief all over Jordan’s face.

Hearing this, Michael tugged Jordan roughly. “Don’t be so rude.”

Jordan pouted her lips, and the look in her eyes toward Chris was full of hostility. It was hard to imagine a little girl’s eyes could have such an expression. Michael’s parenting really had serious problems.

“Mr. Green, you’re back. I thought the two of you were divorce. Did Linda tell you to live together? Does the rest of the Wilder Group not know about your divorce? Did Linda make you put on an act?”

Even now, Michael still tried to find a way out for himself. Chris couldn’t help but admire him.

    Jessica didn’t refute either.

“Did youe all this way to bring gifts? It’s cold outside. You shouldn’t take Jordan outdoors in such weather. If you need anything, tell Shannon. She’ll prepare everything for you.”

Chris stood beside Jessica. Such a sight made Michael very ufortable.
