Chris quickly reached out to take it from her.

“Isn’t Ms. Wilder busy with work as well? The food is getting cold low about we eat first?”

    “Okay.”

The food was the usual dishes they liked, nothing special.

Since Chris started working, he rarely had time to cook at home. Plus, with so much going on recently–him at thepany and at the hospital watching over things–they only saw each other when they slept.

“Roy has already taken Joseph’s statement. I think they’ll catch the person who pushed him down soon, but I still don’t hold much hope. J didn’t implicate Michael at all, which means Michael never appeared in public from start to finish.”

Jessica nodded, this was indeed Michael’s habit.

No matter what he did, he always stayed behind the scenes. He could be the one funding things, but he would never be the person everyone had seen.

“I saw Luke at the hospital today.” Actually, he wasn’t very sure, so after a short pause, he added, “But the figure looked very simr. It wasn’t just me who saw him–Roy saw him too.”

Jessica said, “With something this big happening, Luke has more to gain than anyone. This was done by his brother. He thought if Michael did something like this, the Hall family would kick him out, but he never realized that the Hall family has always been like this.”

“So Luke is the openly disyed pawn.”

He was also the utterly pitiful one.

Joseph’s recovery n was revised multiple times before it was finalized.

Nina called to ask about the length of the recovery period.

“I can’tpress the time any further. You all want Joseph to fully recover. It’s not impossible for him to start working now, but what if in a few years his health copsespletely? Would you just abandon him then?”

Nina sat at her desk, flipping through several pages of documents quickly. The secretary pointed to the signature spot. Nina signed her name and held the phone between her shoulder and cheek.

“No way! We’re not that cruel! But he still has many nsing up. If he can’t join on time, I have to find someone else to fill in. It is a bit troublesome, but Chris, you’re right–health is always the most important. Let’s do it your way.”

Chris said, “I’ve alreadypressed his recovery period to six months, but that’s only if his recovery speed is fast enough during that time.”

After talking with Nina for a while–first hearing herin and then discussing Joseph’s situation–he finally hung up

Lately, Chris hadn’t been seeing patients downstairs but had been staying in his own office preparing for the hospital’s IPO,

He had to review every year’s medical records carefully to ensure there were no issues before the application could be submitted.

He knew the year his father–inw had the ident but hadn’t seen the tile yet..

He had heard from the old professor about the surgery back then, who said everything went fine and the person had already drawn ast breath at the scene.

But ording to eyewitness statements, the person hadn’t died at all and had even opened their eyes when put onto the ambnce.

The two ountspletely contradicted each other, and Jessica sensed there was definitely something wrong and was

    determined to investigate thoroughly.

“Do you know anything about Dad’s death?”

Taking advantage of a day off, he first went to visit Mrs. Wilder an
