Chapter 105
This was actually a very typical psychological condition.
Because she liked her sister, she became interested in everything her sister liked.
Fortunately, Sophie had never developed the idea of taking Michael away–she only desperately hoped that her sister could be with the person she loved.
At the moment, in order to help her sister reconcile with Michael, Sophie would do whatever Michael asked.
She really was a silly little girl.
Jessica didn’t know what to say.
“Let’s not talk about it now, I’ll see how things go,” said Jessica.
“Okay.”
The room fell silent immediately.
Today was already an overtime day, and there weren’t many people in thepany.
Jessica couldn’t focus on the documents in her hands–her mind was full of Sophie and Michael.
“When I first started my internship at the Summit Infirmary, didn’t Jordan get sick? Sophie went with her to see the doctor. Back then, I already noticed that Sophie liked Michael. I didn’t expect you to know too.”
Jessica leaned on her hand and looked helpless.
“How could I not see know? Actually, I hinted Sophie several times that Michael and I were already over. But still… what you don’t know is that the first person Michael looked for when he came back to the country was Sophie. It seems Michael also knew I was already married, and Sophie was the only point of entry.”
If Michael failed to break up their marriage, he would probably shift his attention to Sophie.
By then, things might actually be simpler.
Sophie liked Michael only because he was someone her sister liked.
She had misunderstood the idea of loving everything rted to someone into being romantic love.
Once Jessica no longer had feelings for Michael, then Michael would just be a passerby in Sophie’s
life.
“If Sophie won’t listen, there’s nothing I can do. I thought sending her far away would keep Michael from getting close to her. But it still happened… forget it. Let’s just take it one step at a time. As long as I don’t let Sophie drag the Wilder Group into this, it shouldn’t be a big issue.”
Chris sat across from Shannon, took a sip of coffee, and though it tasted bitter, it was still rich and
fragrant.
After a while, he finally said, “Isn’t Michael running an entertainmentpany? When did he start doing self–media too?”
“In the new media era, most entertainmentpanies have a bunch of influencers under their name. Actually, I’ve thought about moving into the entertainment industry too, but the Wilder Group has never had any foundation there. And now that I’m working with the Felton family, there’s no need to fight for that market.”
“Nina will probably being by often these days.”
Jessica nced at Chris.
“What, so excited to see Nina?”
“Don’t tease me.”
They had originally thought Chris’s day off would let them enjoy a quiet afternoon.
But right after lunch, while the two of them were lying down in the lounge, the hospital called.
There was an emergency case that required a multi–department consultation, and Chris had to go
in too.
Chris immediately got up, dressed, and left.
After he left, Jessica stayed lying on the bed, staring at the ceiling.
Sophie’s situation was a bit difficult.
She had never liked Chris in the first ce.
If Jessica told her they were back together straightforwardly, Sophie would definitely turn her hostility toward Chris.
But what could she do?
How did she end up with such a foolish little sister?
It was her fault too for not guiding her properly in those early years.
If she had helped Sophie understand that loving what someone loves wasn’t the same as being in love, maybe things would’ve been better.
The patient who had been brought in was in critical condition.
It was said they had fallen off the stage, and a giant chandelier had crashed down onto them.
The entire body had been pierced through by steel rods just barely missing the heart–and that was the only reason they were still alive.
“What’s the situation?” Chris entered the conference room in his doctor’s overalls.
All the departments were already present.
“Mr. Green, take a look at the scan. It’s not looking
