First, Second, and Fourth sneaked into a room.
“The way the trustee is acting, he must be trying to woo Mom, right?” Second asked.
Fourth nodded. “That’s how it always is in the movies.”
First remained silent; it was already quite obvious.
“So, what do we do? Do we support it or try to stop it?” Second asked.
First didn’t answer, and neither did Fourth.
“Why aren’t you guys saying anything?” Second asked.
“Well, I really like Trustee Lowe; he’s so cool, but… I also really like Uncle. What if he’s our dad? I don’t know what to choose,” Fourth said, feeling conflicted.
Second didn’t expect to get any answers from Fourth and looked at First. “Bro, what about you?”
“Neither support nor oppose,” First said.
“What does that mean?”
“Let’s not jump to conclusions about whether Hugo Hodges is our dad or not. Even if he is, we don’t know why Mom left him in the first ce. What if Mom really doesn’t like him anymore? Are we just going to force her to be with him again because we like him? As for Trustee Lowe… if he can make Mom happy and is better than Dad, then I’d rather support him.”
“Indeed, that’s what a big brother thinks about-being so thoughtful.”
Second nodded. “I understand what you mean.”
“So, let’s see what Mommy chooses. No matter who it is, as long as Mommy is willing and gives her approval,
support it,” First shared his perspective.
????
Second nodded. “I agree.”
Fourth thought for a moment and then nodded as well. “I agree too.”
Second looked at Fourth. “I know you like Hugo Hodges. If he turns out to be our dad, that’s something we can’t change. You can still like him, but don’t force them to be together just because we like him. It wouldn’t be good for anyone.”
“I understand,” Fourth nodded. She wasn’t clueless.
Then, Second turned to First. “Bro, is there still no news from Quinn?”
“He’s on a mission and can’t be contacted right now. I’ll try to reach him again.”
“He’s really dragging out the suspense,” Second sighed. His heart was on edge every day, waiting for the

result.
First didn’t say anything, but he felt the same way.
Fourth was even more anxious; she was practically dying of impatience.

Yale Lowe looked at Scarlett Adler’s still-swollen ankle and asked, “Did you put any ointment on it?”
“Yes, First helps me apply the medicine every day,” Scarlett Adler said.
Speaking of First, Yale Lowe smiled. “He seems steady and is a sensible and considerate child.”
Scarlett Adler didn’t deny it. Among the three children, First spoke the least but was also the most concerned
about her.
After thinking for a moment, Yale Lowe spoke, “They are Hugo Hodges’ children, aren’t they?”

Hearing this, Scarlett Adler paused and looked at Yale Lowe. Her clear eyes showed a hint of surprise. After a moment, she asked, “Is it that obvious?”
This was undoubtedly an admission.
“Not obvious, I didn’t think so at first. But after seeing him at yourpany today and observing his attitude towards you… it all connects. Besides, First looks a lot like him,” Yale Lowe said.
Scarlett Adler didn’t deny or exin.
“He doesn’t know about the existence of these three children.”
Scarlett Adler nodded. “How do you know?”
“When I went downstairs, Hugo Hodges was waiting for me and asked about my rtionship with you. I
guessed,” Yale Lowe said.

“You haven’t told Hugo Hodges, have you?” Scarlett Adler asked.
Yale Lowe shook his head.
Scarlett Adler breathed a sigh of relief.
Yale Lowe looked at her. “Although I don’t know what happened between you two, or what kind of past you have, keeping it a secret like this isn’t a long-term solution.”
Scarlett Adler knew that, but for now, she could only take things one step at a time.
“This city isn’t that big, but it’s not small either. Meeting him is probably only a matter of time,” Yale Lowe said.
“I know. I’ve thought about taking them abroad, but…” Scarlett Adler nced at her grandfather, who was busy in the kitchen. “Grandpa is getting old, and he doesn’t want to live abroad. I can’t bear to make him move around with us, so I want to stay in the country and spend more time with him. As for everything else, we’ll deal with it when the timees.”
“Hugo Hodges has immense power. If he finds out about these three children, he’ll definitely want them back.”
Scarlett Adler smiled faintly. “Even with all his power, I’m not afraid. He won’t necessarily win.”
“There is one way to guarantee a win,” Yale Lowe said.
Scarlett Adler looked at him, “What?”
Yale Lowe thought for a moment and said, “Legally, judges tend to favor stable families, so if you have a new family, your chances of winning should be much higher.”
Scarlett Adler narrowed her eyes, looking at him.
Yale Lowe looked back at Scarlett Adler.
Yale Lowe realized that he had spoken impulsively, but it was indeed a good idea.
And he was willing to be Scarlett Adler’s choice.

In the silence, William Adler’s voice came from the kitchen, “Dinner’s ready.”

William Adler then brought the dishes to the table, looking at the two in the living room, “Trustee Lowe,e
eat. Let’s talk while we eat.”
Yale Lowe snapped back to reality and responded, “Okay.”
He nced at Scarlett Adler, “Just a suggestion, you can consider it.”
Scarlett Adler didn’t say anything.
Just then, the three little ones in the bedroom heard themotion and ran out.
With the three of them, it suddenly became lively.
Fourth patted the seat next to him, “Trustee, sit here.”
“Okay,” Yale Lowe replied, sitting next to Fourth.
William Adler was pleased to see how responsive Yale was to the child’s requests.
William Adler looked at him and said, “Yale, it’s just a simple home-cooked meal. I hope you don’t mind.”
“Grandpa, what are you saying? I love home-cooked meals. It’s just that my parents are abroad most of the time, so I rarely get to eat them. I’m lucky to have this today.”
“Really? Then you’re wee toe over anytime you want to eat,” William Adler said, genuinely delighted.
“Then I won’t stand on ceremony. And please, don’t call me Yale, just call me Yale or Lowe,” Yale said, his every gesture exuding good manners and politeness, which the old man found very endearing.
“Alright, Lowe,e on, eat up,” William Adler urged.
Yale nced at Scarlett Adler, smiled, and lowered his head to eat.
“Can I call you Lowe too?” Fourth asked quietly from the side.
“Fourth, don’t be impolite,” William Adler chided.
Unexpectedly, Yale Lowe said, “Of course, I think it’s very weing.”
Fourthughed, “Uncle Lowe, my grandfather cooks really well, so eat plenty!”
Everyone was amused by Fourth.
Only Scarlett Adler was eating seriously, deep in thought.
Actually, what Yale Lowe said made sense!
But where could she find a man?
Facing marriage again, Scarlett wasn’t afraid, but what if they didn’t like her three children?
