Aurora wasn’t the least bit surprised by Grace’s response.
After all, she had prepared all of this herself–she knew exactly what she was capable of.
If she wanted her n to pass her mother’s review, it wouldn’t be difficult at all.
“Madam Grace, you can leave the Hunts to me.”
Aurora smiled faintly, already set on fully taking over the task of dealing with Joseph.
Since he hadn’t shown her any courtesy, why should she spare him any either?
Grace nodded, showing no objections.
“I trust the decisions you make. You don’t need to consult me on everything.”
But Aurora insisted on her own principle. “Madam Grace, this is a matter of principle. I still need to let you know.
“For small things, I’ll decide on my own, but for something like this, I have toe to you first.”
Seeing Aurora so serious and earnest, Grace couldn’t help but feel a touch of emotion.
Was this what it meant to have a good daughter?
After all, her daughter was capable, beautiful, and deeply respectful toward her elders.
She had to admit, taking Aurora anywhere was a source of pride.
No one was a fool, and in the adult world, there was no need for too many twists and turns.
Aurora, of course, could see exactly what her mother was thinking.
Which was why she needed to hold on to that advantage and secure her position in the Walton
Corporation.
These were lessons she had learned well.
But as Grace looked back at the documents, a hint of amusement crept onto her face.
“Aurora, if I’m not mistaken, Joseph Hunt is your ex–boyfriend, isn’t he?”
There was a trace of puzzlement in her tone. “Are you really willing to go after him like this?”
“Why wouldn’t I be?”
Aurora countered with a question of her own. “That’s all in the past. Hasn’t everyone been blind at some point in their life?
“Besides, I’m living a happy, fulfilling life with my husband now. There’s no need to bring up any other
man.”
Seeing the smile in Aurora’s eyes, Grace knew she truly was happy.
Since that was the case, there was nothing for her to feel regret over.
“Alright, I have no other requests–so long as you’re happy, that’s all that matters.”
Looking at Aurora, who resembled her more and more as the years went by, Grace felt a deep wave of
emotion.
How could she not be her daughter?
The way Aurora stood there was almost no different from her own younger self.
As Grace looked at her, she even felt a momentary daze, realizing just how quickly time had passed.
She could still remember when Aurora had been a tiny little thing, always running around in front of her.
And now, her children had the ability to stand on their own. The thought filled her with relief.
Though they weren’t as attached to her as when they were young, the fact that they could survive and thrive on their own made her even more proud.
Aurora went on. “Madam Grace, then leave the Hunts entirely to me.”
Grace nodded, “No problem. I trust your work. I’ll leave the whole matter in your hands.”
Grace had always been confident in Aurora’s abilities, so there was nothing surprising in her agreement.
She waved her hand, signaling for Aurora to leave.
