He hadn’t expected that even after saying all that she still wouldn’t back down.

She didn’t even change her tone.

    That only made Joseph angrier.

He raised his hand, ready to teach Aurora a lesson

Aurora’s eyes widened. She hadn’t thought he’d actually dare.

“Joseph, I’m warning you–if you touch me, your Hunt Enterprises won’t get away with it either.”

Joseph hesitated for a split second.

    Then he thought of Judy.

She had suffered too–bullied by Aurora–but when it came to dealing with Aurora, she always thought of him first.

    She never even considered herself.

All she ever thought about was how he’d been thrown into prison because of Aurora.

Thinking of that, Joseph looked at Aurora with even more resentment.

    “You’re threatening me now?”

He tilted his head slightly, a crooked smile on his face.

At that moment, Aurora finally felt a trace of fear

This time, she had been reckless.

She shouldn’t havee here so impulsively.

She should’ve been more cautious, or better yet, broughtn along.

At least then, she would’ve had someone to keep things in check.

But now, she hadn’t expected Joseph to be this unhinged.

Aurora took a deep breath, seized the moment, and was just about to make a move but Joseph caught on instantly.

    Her eyes widened in disbelief.

Why did it feel like every move she tried was already predicted by him?

Was Joseph always like this before?

In her mind, he had always been the reckless, brainless type.

But now, it felt like he had changedpletely.

Joseph let out a coldugh. “What’s wrong? Still think I’m the same fool from before?

“I’m telling you, times have changed. Don’t underestimate me.”

Aurora struggled, but it was useless. All she could do was re at his arrogant face.

But the next second, Joseph didn’t go through with hitting her.

Instead, he sneered, “Look at this pretty little face. I couldn’t bear to mess it up.”

Just as he reached out to touch her, the door suddenly burst open.

Both of them froze, especially Joseph–startled, he immediately let go of her jaw.

Aurora seized the moment and pped him hard across the face, following it with a shoulder throw that sent him crashing to the ground.

She knew this was her best chance.

She didn’t even stop to look at who hade through the door.

Panting slightly, she looked down at Joseph lying on the floor, her expression full of contempt.

“What happened? Weren’t you acting all high and mighty just now?”

She stepped on him. “Go on, act tough again. Let’s see it, hmm? Snatching my projects, poaching people from mypany–you’re getting bolder by the day.”

As she spoke, she didn’t hold back at all, each wordnding like a blow.

Since things had alreadye to this, there was no point in pretending anymore.

No reason to be polite to Joseph.

“Serves you right. You even thought aboutying a hand on me? Go on, try it.”

As she spoke, her foot didn’t pause for a second.

Joseph raised a trembling hand, pointing at her, his voice quivering. “You… vicious… woman…‘

Aurora arched a brow, amused. “Oh? Still have the strength to talk? Impressive.”
