Second Aunt’s tears vanished as swiftly as they appeared, her tone turning fierce. “Johan! You owe me an exnation today.”
Pain throbbed in Johan’s chest.
Larissa stood silently nearby, not daring to interrupt.
“What exnation do you want?” Johan’s gaze turned icy. “Second Uncle kidnapped my sister and Corrine. Corrine fell into the river because of him–her whereabouts are still unknown. Shouldn’t you be giving me answers?”
Second Aunt’s tears dried instantly. “Sister? Corrine?”
Even Sophia looked stunned. “You found Ci?”
“Had he not kidnapped Ci, he wouldn’t have reaped what he sowedter.”
Johan felt a sharp pang in his chest, his tone turning icy. “Besides, Holden drowned himself. What’s that got to do with me?”
“You… your sister wasn’t even found yet! You’re framing him on purpose!”
“Go ask the police station if it’s a frame job.”
Johan seethed with suppressed anger.
“Also, Ci’s been found.”
Uncle Cheng immediately pressed, “Where is she?”

Johan opened his mouth but swallowed his words after ncing at Madam Cheng the Second.
A faint voice interjected, “Third room down that way.”
With only four rooms on this floor, it was easy to spot.
Johan shot Larissa a frosty look.
Larissa flinched, biting her lip. “Ci wille home eventually. She ought to know her rtives.”
She’d already sensed Madam Cheng the Second wasn’t easy to get along with.
Let Cecilia handle them.
Madam Cheng the Second plus Uncle Cheng and his wife hurried off to find Cecilia.
Johan’s voice cut like ice. “Larissa, if you want a divorce, just keep it up.”
Larissa knew her little scheme was exposed. Head bowed, she whispered defensively,
“You’re badly injured. I just didn’t want them disturbing you.”
Johan got out of bed in pain, not even looking at her.
Larissa snapped, “Johan, in your heart, am I really that vicious?”
Johan remained silent.
Larissa choked up, “line, I shouldn’t have said it, but I meant well.”
“Was I supposed to just watch them bully you?”

Clenching his teeth against the pain, Johan hurried off to find Cecilia.
Larissa bit her lip hard, stomping her foot in fury.
Her kindness had been cast before swine.
Cecilia had just woken when three strangers entered her hospital room.
The man at the forefront had moist eyes. “Ci.”
Behind him stood two women–one gentle–faced, the other cold and detached, dressed in mourning attire.
“Who are you?”
Cecilia asked softly.
Third Uncle quickly made introductions.
“Third Uncle, Third Aunt, Second Aunt.”
Cecilia greeted them.
Third Aunt gently took her hand, voice feather–light as if afraid to startle her.
“Dear child, are you alright?”
“I’m fine. Just need a couple days‘ rest.”
Cecilia had always liked this gentle aunt.
She’d always favored kind souls.
Behind them, Second Aunt said darkly: “Johan ims our Old Cheng kidnapped you?”
“Then tell me this–he didn’t even know who you are, so how could he

kidnap you? Did you and Johan team up to frame my Old Cheng?”
Her using voice boomed through the room.
Third Uncle Cheng frowned. “Second Sister–inw, Ci isn’t well. Lower your voice.”
“You all… Now that Old Cheng’s gone, you bully me! I might as well join him!”
Second Mrs. Cheng wailed, lunging toward the window as if to jump.
Third Uncle Cheng and his wife immediately seized her arms.
“Second Sister–inw, that’s not what we meant.”
“Please calm down, Second Sister–inw.”
Second Mrs. Cheng stole a nce at Cecilia, thinking she could manipte this seemingly fragile girl.
Instead, she met Cecilia’spletely unruffled expression.
Cecilia didn’t even shift her posture, watching her with icy detachment.
For a heartbeat, Second Mrs. Cheng felt like a fool.
Sobbing, she slumped to the floor. “Let me go… Just let me follow Old Cheng. Better than being your burden.”
Truthfully, nobody had called her a burden.
“My Old Cheng was persecuted by you siblings! He died an unjust death!”
Her shrieks crescendoed–had this not been a VIP ward, crowds would’ve gathered.

But now, no one appreciated her performance.
“Enough.”
Johan couldn’t help snapping as he arrived, “Take your tantrum elsewhere.”
“Johan, you’re not head of the family yet! How dare you tell me to leave?”
