Chapter303
As long as Corrine’s body remained undiscovered, she believed Corrine was alive.
She’d already asked people to search along the riverbanks.
She’d find her.
“Yes, we leave today.”
Cecilia nced around the bedroom.
She’d arrived with little and had even less to pack.
“Ci, must you go?”
Wesley pleaded.
He couldn’t bear to let her go.
Yet he’d lost any right to ask her to stay.
“Wesley, you’re young. You’ll meet someone who loves youpletely.”
Cecilia forced a faint smile.
She wanted a clean break.
At least then he wouldn’t haunt herter.
Wesley’s heart ached Impulsively, he strode forward and yanked Cecilia into his arms.

Holding her tight.
“Ci.”
She let him hold her, felt nothing.
Just then, Wesley’s phone rang–a call from the hospital. Johan had woken up.
Wesley gripped Cecilia’s hand. “Let’s go to the hospital.”
Cecilia’s heart raced. “Alright.”
They rushed to the hospital together.
Johan had been moved from the ICU to a regr ward and was allowed visitors.
Wesley went to the doctor’s office.
As Cecilia approached the hospital room, she heard Larissa’s sobs.
“Johan, you scared me to death.”
Larissa poured out her worries/over the past few days. “What would I do if anything happened to you?”
She didn’t mention Johan leaving all his assets to Cecilia.
Johan’s weak voice responded, “I’m tougher than I look. Not dying anytime soon.”
His tone carried rare gentleness.
Larissa noticed it immediately.
“Johan.”

Cecilia couldn’t bear listening any longer. She pushed the door open, shattering the warm atmosphere.
“You’re awake.”
Cecilia walked to the bedside. She’d intended to call him “brother,” but
the word got stuck in her throat when she saw him.
Johan forced a smile. “You alright?”
Cecilia pressed her lips together, shaking her head.
Larissa remarked pointedly, “Cecilia, you know Johan’s your brother. Why won’t you call him that?”
Johan jolted upright, shock fueling his movements.
Cecilia already knew?
Would she ept him as her brother?
Anxiety churned in Johan’s chest.
Cecilia steadied herself and spoke. “Bro.”
The single syble lifted an invisible weight off her shoulders.
Johan’s eyes crinkled into crescents. “Mm.”
Larissa watched with envy; even though Cecilia was Johan’s sister, she still felt jealous.
They were both sisters/but Johan adored Cecilia to no end, while Wesley grew increasingly distant.
“How are you feeling?”
Cecilia asked in a low voice about Johan’s condition.

“I’m fine, I’ll be better in a few days.”
If it weren’t for the wound on his chest, Johan would have patted his chest to reassure her.
“That knife almost pierced your heart. How could you be better in just a few days?”
Larissa started to shed tears again.
When this matter was brought up, Johan’s expression turned somewhat indifferent.
He asked, “What about Corrine? Has she been found?”
His tone was stiff, hiding anger.
Cecilia had a bad feeling; Johan probably misunderstood Corrine.
“Not yet.”
She said.
Johan didn’t speak.
Cecilia hesitated but still asked, “Brother, you were there at the time. I want to ask you: did Corrine fall into the water because Larissa pushed her, or did she deliberately roll into the river after falling?”
Although Johan was already injured at the time and might not have
noticed at all.
But Cecilia couldn’t help asking.
Larissa clenched her fingers, feeling extremely uneasy inside.
Johan might not take her side

There was half a minute of silence in the room.
Finally, Johan spoke in a low voice, “She rolled down herself. It had nothing to do with Larissa.”
Larissa stared at Johan in disbelief for a moment.
Cecilia pressed her lips into a tight line.
“She fell down on her own, and Larissa stillmitted intentional assault…”
“Ci, this ends here.”
Johan made his stance crystal clear.
He looked straight at Cecilia, leaving no room for doubt.
“Corrine only did that for my sake. She didn’t mean it,” Cecilia insisted urgently.
After all, if Johan witnessed Corrine deliberately rolling into the river, Larissa would bepletely cleared of me.
Would Johan protect Larissa too?
Because of that stab wound from Corrine?
She tried to kill her.
“I told you–I pushed her, but not hard enough to send her into the river,” Larissa protested, her voice thick with grievance.
Chapter304
Johan’s trust washed over her like warm reassurance.
She settled into calm certainty.
“Brother, please think this through…” Cecilia persisted.
“Cecilia, your brother just woke up from critical injuries,” Larissa stood up, speaking quite bluntly. “Must you hound him about Corrine right now?
Honestly, you’re utterly heartless for a sister.”
“And Corrine stabbed your brother, nearly killing him, yet you’re here speaking up for her – do you have any conscience?”
Cecilia fell silent.
She knew it wasn’t the time to ask, but she was anxious.
Larissa clearlymitted intentional murder, yet she’s innocent.
And whether dead or alive, Corrine will bear the charge of premeditated murder.
“Sorry.”
Cecilia ultimately chose to back down.
Johan was too restless, “I want to sleep. All of you, get out.”
Cecilia left the ward in silence.
Larissa opened her mouth to speak, but seeing Johan’s face pale and
