Shattered 300

    Hence thewyer’s visit.

He pulled a document from his briefcase–Holden’sst will, addressed to Juniper.

Holden left enough money for this daughter, while thepany shares were transferred to Johan.

Of course, had he lived, he’d never have let Johan touch thepany.

But producing this will now meant he’d met misfortune. With Juniper as his only daughter–no business talent–thepany would ultimately fall to Johan.

He’d fought all his life, yet couldn’t bear to see thepany fall into outsiders‘ hands.

In Holden’s n, only two oues existed:

Either he lived, or Johan lived/

This oue–one dead, one injuredy beyond his expectations.

“The young master’s in critical care. I shouldn’t say this, but we must prepare for the alternative. Should he not pull through, thepany needs someone decisive.”

Larissa straightened up. She tucked her long hair behind her ear, presenting the demeanor of Mrs. Johnson

As Johan’s wife, she held the strongest im to make decisions

“Attorney Wang, Johan’s affairs are my responsibility”

Attorney Wang nodded. “Of course, the young master’s matters should be yours. But we’re discussingpany affairs now.”

He produced another document. “I have another arrangement here–the young master’s.”

Larissa had a sinking feeling in her gut.

    Johan’s arrangements?

He couldn’t have known he’d get into an ident–how could he have made arrangements?

Thewyer seemed to read her mind. “Young Master Johan prepared this three months ago and had it notarized. To be precise, it’s essentially a will.”

Though Johan was still in critical care, calling it a will felt too final.

He opened the document. “Young Master stipted that should anything happen to him, all his assets would go to Miss Cecilia.”

“As for you, Madam, he’s left you five million dors and your marital home.”

    “Impossible.”

Larissa’s eyes widened as she snatched the papers.

    Cecilia again.

Johan had left everything to Cecilia.

“I’m his wife! How could he give everything to her?”

Five million and one house meant nothing against the vast Johnson

    family fortune.

    Larissa couldn’t ept this.

Barely concealing her jealousy and hatred, she whirled toward Cecilia. “What exactly is your rtionship with him?”

    Why did Cecilia get everything?

Thewyer produced another document. “ording to DNA test results, Miss Cecilia is Young Master Johan’s long–lost sister.”

    “What?”

    Larissa was stunned into silence.

Cecilia had a sinking feeling that everything she had would be snatched away by Cecilia again.

“I don’t believe it. If Cecilia is really his sister, why would he hide it?”

Larissa demanded in a shrill voice.

She tore the will in her hands to shreds.

Attorney Wang adjusted his sses–he’d brought a copy, letting Larissa rip it apart.

Cecilia read the DNA document over and over, tears streaming down

    her face.

So Wesley had been telling the truth.

She really was Johan’s biological sister.

Slumping weakly into the chair, only one thought consumed her: praying Johan would survive.

    He had to live.

    “Larissa, it’s true.”

Wesley gripped Larissa’s wrist, stopping her outburst.

This time Larissa cried genuine tears, her eyes glistening as she asked Wesley, “So you knew all along, didn’t you?

Brother, you lied to me too.”

Wesley exined gravely, “It wasn’t a lie. Johan’s work was dangerous. He didn’t want to drag Cecilia into it.”

If Holden had known Cecilia’s identity, he wouldn’t have bothered with threats–he’d have taken her outright.

The consequences would’ve been far worse.

Yet Larissa was utterly heartbroken. “He worried about his sister’s safety, but had no problem dragging me in. He didn’t even try to save me in the end.”

Johan was too cold–hearted and ruthless.

“In your hearts, Cecilia matters most. You all love her, protect her.”

She murmured, ughing bitterly at herself. “One is my husband, the other my brother–yet you’ve both abandoned me.”

    “Larissa.”

Wesley’s eyes turned cold. “Your only task now is waiting for Johan to wake, not squabbling over assets here.”

    “He isn’t dead yet.”

    He reminded her sharply.

Larissa snapped back to reality. Right–Johan wasn’t dead. Hope remained.

Covering her face, she burst into tears. “I know. I just wish… I were the one lying in there instead.”
