Chapter51
He was still young, with hopes for his future.
“OK, help me outside.”
Prisci had no intention of making things difficult for anyone, especially since these doctors and nurses had been forced by Amelia
Step by step, she moved to the door. Her knees were numb and her legs were just like wood.
“Wesley.”
Wesley walked over, with his dark face. “Who allowed you to get out of bed?”
His cold gaze fell on the young doctor.
The doctor was uneasy.
Prisci leaned against the wall and said calmly.
did nothing wrong.”
“Let them go. They
“Mrs. Carlton threatened to fire them. They had no choice.”
Ordinary people were struggling to get by.
Wesley’s expression softened a little. He called Everett over. “Take away everyone who took photos or videos in secret. Pursue anyone who forwarded them,to the end.”
“Yes, Mr. Carlton. I’ll take care of it right away.” Everett turned to get
to work.
Wesley carried Prisci back to the ward.
She soon fell asleep.
Wesley took his phone and walked to the window, gazing at the pale light on the horizon, and let out a long breath.
He called Amelia and asked her why she had done this.
Amelia was happy for her son’s awakening one moment, and the next, she was being questioned, which made her furious.
“That bitch Prisci dared to hit you, and in such a vital spot on the back of your head. How could I let her off?”
“I told you it wasn’t her.”
“If it wasn’t her, then who was it?” Amelia’s angry voice pierced through the phone. “Wes, I know you don’t like her. Why are you protecting her?”
Wesley’s tone was stern. “Even if I don’t like her, she is still my wife.”
“You two should get a divorce.” Amelia had always wanted to find her son a truedy of noble background.
Not Larissa, and certainly not Prisci.
“Spare me your old–fashioned ways. My affairs are none of your business. Just take care of yourself.”
Wesley hung up the phone.
Amelia who was furious, smashed her phone. Everything she did was for her son, yet he didn’t appreciate it.
Wesley stood by the window and aplex emotion slowly surfaceu

in his eyes.
He and Prisci often argued, but never had any quarrel led to such serious consequences as this time.
She had even knelt to beg for forgiveness.
Wesley felt that the rift between him and Prisci was growing wider and wider.
If it wasn’t repaired soon, it would be an unbridgeable chasm.
He quietly left the room and called Everett over to give instructions. “Find the best location on Elmwood Avenue and renovate a studio for my wife.”
Prisci loved perfume. so he would prepare a studio just for her.
This was his way of showing his feelings.
Although Wesley woke up and dealt with the matter immediately, it was still toote. The photo of Prisci kneeling had already leaked
out.
Friends shared it with friends, and groups passed it to other groups.
Soon, almost everyone in their circle knew about it.
Prisci received a flood of messages on her phone and most of them probed with a hint of schadenfreude.
Only a few were genuinely concerned.
Prisci didn’t reply to any of them.
But she especially called Dillon, telling him to keep this matter from Bonnie. Otherwise, she would reveal the truth about Wesley being hit
on the back of the head to Amelia
Dillon was furious at her threat, but also wary
He had thought he could use Bonnie to control Prisci, but hadn’t expected that she would have something on him as well
Prisci had no patience for his firade and hung up
She looked out the window.
Outside, the sun zed fiercely, but inside the room there was not a trace of warmth.
Corrine came to see her.
Sheforted her friend and told her not to care about others‘
opinions.
Besides, things were now developing towards another direction.
With the photo of Prisci kneeling going public online, the affair between Wesley and Larissa was brought up again.
The cheating scandal had already caused a huge stir, then came ude’s violence, and now Prisci’s kneeling.
Once again, a tidal wave of condemnation against the cheating man and the shameless woman swept in.
Prisci no longer felt the urge to fight back as she once did. She pressed her lips together calmly and told Corrine not to worry.
She also asked Corrine to bring some books for her to kill time.
Corrine looked at her quiet demeanor, but felt she seemed even sadder.
She gathered a lot of professional books on perfumery and brou
them all to the hospital.
When Wesley arrived. Prisci was reading
