Shattered 42

    Chapter42

Eldridge was heartbroken. He often thought that if he had met Prisci first, he would have done everything in his power to support her on her path in perfumery.

She deserved a broader future, not to be reduced to a man’s essory.

“She doesn’t love you.” Eldridge stated. “If you still care about your marriage, you should divorce her and let her do what she loves.”

“She doesn’t love me? Do you think she would love you? What do you have that’s worth her love?” Wesley scoffed.

He didn’t believe Prisci would ever choose someone as inexperienced as Eldridge.

Eldridge stood up, with elegant manner and full confidence.

“Rafael is my grandfather. My grandfather has devoted his life to

perfumery, and you can see how much he likes Prisci, Mr. Carlton. That’s what makes me worthy.”

He turned and went to mingle with other guests.

Wesley remained seated and his face was dark. gloom clouded his

    eyes.

Larissa stood not far away, with her pale face. So Eldridge was Rafael’s grandson..

When had Prisci have such a connection? No wonder she was so calm when she left the Carlton Group.

Until today, Larissa had never really paid attention to Prisci After all, she was just a country girl. Even if they shared the same blood, the differences brought by their environments couldn’t be changed.

But today, that country girl Prisci had shown another side of herself, delivering a heavy blow

She walked over slowly and said softly. “Wes, what’s wrong?”

Wesley snapped out of it, nced at his watch, and stood up “Tll ask the driver to take you home.”

Because Sir Livingston valued Prisci so much, Larissa no longer had any ce here.

    Larissa nodded obediently.

When they reached the door, they saw Prisci and Eldridge.

Eldridge said something, and Prisciughed softly. Her eyes and brows were full of feminine gentleness.

Eldridge opened the car door, which seemed to see Prisci off

    “It’s Prisci…” Larissa murmured.

d Prisci’s wrist, and pulled Wesley had already strode over, grabbed Prisci’s wrist, and pulled her to his side, ring coldly at Eldridge.

“There’s no need to trouble Mr. Livingston.”

Eldridge looked at Prisci gently. “What about you?”

    He respected Prisci’s wishes.

Prisci didn’t want to see Eldridge and Wesleye into conflict.

“Mr. Carlton and I are going the same way.”

The driver brought the car around. Prisci took the initiative to sit in the front passenger seat, leaving the back for Wesley and Larissa.

Wesley’s eyes darkened as he instructed the driver to take Larissa home first.

    Prisci said goodbye to Eldridge.

    The car drove away

Eldridge stood where he was and felt very disappointed.

The elderly man walked over and patted Eldridge on the shoulder. “Prisci is one of the most talented people I’ve ever met.)

Eldridge feigned surprise. “Grandpa, when you say ‘one of,‘ you don’t mean me, do you?”

Rafael shot his grandson a look and sighed deeply. His expression was full of lingering affection. “That person… what a pity.”

Eldridge knew there was always a knot in his grandfather’s heart. His tone became serious. “Grandpa, the person you’re talking about–I will help you find them.”

    Rafael ha

two apprentices in his life. One was the internationally renowned Catherine, and the other… had disappeared for many years…

When they arrived at the Wilburn’s mansion, Prisci thought she could leave right away, but unexpectedly. Dillon, upon learning Wesley was there, warmly invited him in for tea.

Wesley stood by the car door, and his dark eyes fixed only on Prisci.

He was clearly waiting to see what Prisci wanted to do.

    Chapter45.

Prisci didn’t want to go back into the Wilburn’s mansion and wast about to tell the driver to leave.

Tania walked up to the car window and said softly, “You’re already at the door–aren’t you going to see Grandma?”

Prisci’s fingers tightened on her dress. She knew Tania was just using this as an excuse to keep Wesley, but she couldn’t refuse.

    She missed her grandmother, too.

She opened the door and got out.

Lifting her skirt, she walked inside.

Wesley followed behind her at a leisurely pace.

Prisci asked a servant and learned that her grandmother was in the garden, so she headed over.

Dillon invited Wesley to the living room for tea, but Wesley declined and followed Prisci to the garden.

Tania was a little surprised. “Wes seems different now.”

Dillon’s expression wasplicated. He knew that every time Wesley came here, he would go straight to the living room and only greet Bonnie when he was leaving.

He also thought of what had happened at the hospital before, and wondered about Wesley’s feelings for Prisci.

In the garden, Bonnie, with her silver–white hair, was overjoyed to see Prisci, and even more pleased to see Wesley following behind her.
