Shattered 36

    Chapter36

Bonnie was smiling warmly, while Dillon’s face was full ofplicated emotions.

    Prisci’s cheeks burned.

She had no idea when they hade or how much they had overheard…

    Fortunately, she quicklyposed herself. “Grandma.”

    She didn’t greet Dillon.

A sh of anger appeared in Dillon’s eyes. He thought Prisci was very ill–mannered.

Bonnie squeezed her granddaughter’s hand and then touched her flushed cheek. Her cloudy eyes filled with relief.

She had always thought her granddaughter and grandson–inw didn’t get along. Especially after Larissa returned, their rtionship had only gotten worse.

Moreover, she had heard ude mention more than once at home that Wesley didn’t like Prisci, so she had always been deeply worried.

But now, it seemed they were in love.

The weight in her heart was finally lifted.

    “Ci, how’s your foot?”

Bonnie wanted to take a look, but Prisci quickly stopped her. She didn’t want her grandmother to worry.

Bonne insisted on seeing it, so Prisci had no choice but to roll up her pant leg

Bonnie gently touched it and her heart ached. “How did it end up like this?”

Prisci softly held her grandmother’s hand. “The doctor applied medicine. It’s much better nOW

Dillon nced at Wesley “Wes, let’s go outside and talk

    Wesley nodded and went out.

Only after they had all left did Bonnie say that ude had thrown huge tantrum at home. In the end. Dillon and his wife came to her. exined everything, and hoped she would persuade Prisci

Bonnie felt furious and scolded the couple for being biased, and then med ude for not acting like an older brother, as well as finally med Larissa for not keeping her distance from Wesley, causing such a scandal.

But no matter how much she scolded, they were still family.

She had no choice but to wrong her most beloved granddaughter.

“Ci, Grandma knows it is hard on you,” Bonnie said sadly “But they value ude. If ude’s issue isn’t resolved, they won’t let it go.”

Prisci was both angry and helpless. They were counting on her unwillingness to go against her grandmother’s wishes.

After all, Grandma was getting old and shouldn’t be burdened with

    Worries.

“Grandma, I understand,” Prisci said softly, leaning into her grandmother’s arms, with her moist eyes.

Bonnie gently stroked her ck hair and smiled with relief. “I used to worry about you and Wes, but now that I see you two get along. Grandma is happy.”

Prisci’s eyes stung. They hadn’t really reconciled; it was just that Wesley was eager to y the role as a devoted husband.

    Grandma had misunderstood.

But she didn’t want Grandma to worry, so she let it be.

    Outside the hospital room.

Dillon spoke first. “You need to persuade Prisci not to go too far.”

This time, Prisci had dragged both his children into trouble, making the Wilburn family aughingstock.

Even the marriage alliance originally arranged for ude had been called off.

Dillon was angry but knew that only the person who tied the knot could untie it, he brought his elderly mother along.

A faint darkness flickered in Wesley’s eyes. “This time, ude was wrong.”

He was taking his wife’s side.

Wesley’s defense for Prisci surprised Dillon.

“The video was a lesson for ude.” Wesley stood straight. His voice was calm but especially imposing.

He knew about the video, and he knew Prisci had arranged for it to be released.

But this time, he chose to stand by and watch

    Dillon was momentarily speechless “Wes…”

“ude will take on the responsibility as a head of the family in the future. If he keeps acting so willfully, he won’t be up to the task.” Wesley spoke bluntly, giving Dillon no face.

Dillon was somewhat unconvinced. ude was at fault, but conflicts between siblings didn’t need to be aired online.

But he knew Wesley said this for ude’s own good, so he didn’t

    ??????

    argue.

He said. “Larissa keeps saying she dragged ude down and feels terrible about it.”

At the mention of Larissa, Wesley’s expression softened a little. He said. “I’ll deal with this.”

Dillon was very satisfied with Wesley’s promise.

He turned and went back into the hospital room, putting on the airs of a father as he lectured. “Why can’t the family sit down and talk things over? You just had to act on impulse and drag the whole family down with you.”

“Do you think this means you’ve won?”

“You are a Wilburn too, and people will point at your back andugh at you.”

Between the lines, it was all about Prisci’s immaturity.

After finishing his lecture, Dillon changed his tone and said, “If you have any problems in the future,e straight to Dad. I’ll stand up for you.”
