Shattered 16

“You’ve gotten carried away after marrying Wes. Now you’re too good to eat with us?” Dillon, who had just arrived home, scolded her sternly.

Prisci didn’t argue. She didn’t want to worry Bonnie.

It seemed Dillon wouldn’t let her off unless she relented.

So, she walked toward the dining table and sat down, still saying nothing.

Dillon was even more furious. “Did I upset you or something? What’s with the long face?”

    “Enough, Dillon,” Tania said, mediating.

The atmosphere at the table was stifling.

Prisci keenly sensed the disgust in ude’s gaze fixed on her.

He must have hated her for showing up here, ruining their happy family moment.

“Prisci, have some soup.” Larissa carefully ced a bowl of soup in front of Prisci, her tone soft and even a bit fawning.

But Prisci acted like she hadn’t heard Larissa at all.

She kept eating the food on her te, not even ncing up.

Seeing this, Larissa bit her lip, her eyes reddening.

ude immediately tossed his fork onto the table, pointed at Prisci, and spat, “Cut it out already, Prisci!”

Prisci looked up and said deadpan, “What did I do now?”

“Larissa’s talking to you. Are you deaf? Or blind? Can’t you see the soup she ced in front of you?” ude was seething with rage.

Prisci’s gaze fell upon the soup. “Who says

I have to eat it? What if I say no? Is that against thew?”

Her tone was so calm, but it somehow riled ude up even more.

“Shut up!” Dillon snapped, mming the table. “Couldn’t you just finish the meal without causing trouble?”

Staring at Prisci, he said coldly, “If you don’t wanna eat, get out.”

She stood up right away. “I never wanted to stay.”

She didn’t want to wake Bonnie up. Otherwise, she would have left already.

Leaving here was exactly what she wanted.

“Prisci, stop right there.” ude stood up, walked over to her, and gripped her wrist. “You’re not leaving before you finish the soup.”

Prisci was so proud, which was a constant thorn in his side.

She acted like she wasn’t part of the family, like she was above all of them.

He was set to make her eat the soup today.

“Forget it, ude.” Larissa came over, too, and grabbed his sleeve. She continued in a sobbing voice, “Prisci isn’t feeling well. Don’t make things hard for her.”

“Why are you still defending her?” He looked at her, his gazeced with both disappointment and rage. “She ruined your birthday party, called you a thief in front of everyone, and gave a waitress the gown, making you aughing- stock.

“She never appreciates your kindness. Stop speaking up for her!”

“Prisci, you’re Larissa’s sister, and she genuinely wants to be nice to you,” Wesley walked over, blocked the fierce ude, and persuaded Prisci in a deep voice.

He also thought Prisci should eat the soup. It was a nice gesture from Larissa.

Tania sighed, “Prisci, none of us wanted to see you lose your baby. But who could have seen iting? The good thing is you and Wes are young. You can always have other children.”

“You knew you were pregnant. But instead of staying home, you ran around. Don’t you think you’re responsible for losing your baby? Stop trying to shift the me. Is that how we raised you?” Dillon’s gaze fixed on Prisci was sharp, his disapproval of her undisguised.

Everyone was ming Prisci, and their harsh words were like a sharp knife, stabbing her heart fiercely.

A surge of rage rose within her.

“You never raised me,” she sneered mockingly.

Since her return, they had alwayspared her to Larissa. In their eyes, Larissa outshone her in every respect.

It never crossed their minds that they were the fundamental reason for this huge gap.

Did Dillon really think he was in a ce to scold her?
