Reservation 109

    Chapter 109

“Are you sure she really won’t cling to you again?”

Since Victoria had alreadytched onto Jack over a one–night stand and even schemed to marry into the Stone family, William had no reason to believe she would suddenly keep her word and back off.

At his question, Jack’s gaze turned cold. “If she dares to keep pestering me, I have plenty of ways to deal with her.”

William lowered his eyes and drained his cup of tea in one swallow. “Just this once. If she dares to bother Liz again, I won’t let it slide.”

“Rx. If she stirs up trouble again, it’ll have nothing to do with me. I won’t step in next time.”

William said nothing more. He set the teacup down and rose to leave.

Meanwhile, Liz had just arrived home when her phone rang It was Jane.

“Liz, that person who posted online just leaked your photo and your home address. Are you at home right now? You should book a hotel tonight. I’m worried you might be in danger.”

Liz’s face changed. “Got it. I’ll check first.”

    P

After hanging up, she immediately opened herptop and found the post. Sure enough, her photo and address had been uploaded, and dozens of people in thements were threatening to show up at her door, send her dead rats, or worse.

Maybe because Jane had warned her in advance, Liz’s emotions stayed steady. She noticed the post already had over ten thousand shares and tens of thousands ofments. She took screenshots of everything, carefully saving them as evidence, and organized the files to prepare awsuit first thing the next morning.

Once she finished, she was about to shower and head to bed when a sudden knock sounded at the door.

Normally, Liz wasn’t the type to scare easily. But the sound instantly brought to mind those vilements about dumping paint or leaving dead rats at her doorstep.

Taking a deep breath, she tiptoed to the door.

Just as she peeked through the peephole, the hallway light went out. All she managed to see was a tall figure before the view sank into darkness.

Liz stepped back, debating whether to call security, when the man outside suddenly spoke.

    “Liz, open up.”

Recognizing Zac’s voice, the tension in her chest finally eased. She checked again through the peephole, confirmed it was him, and opened the door.

“Why are you here in the middle of the night?” she asked coldly, still unsettled from the scare.

“I saw that post online. I was worried something might happen to you, so I came to check. It’s not safe here anymore. You should stay at my ce tonight. Tomorrow I’ll send someone to pack up your things.”

Liz frowned, her tone icy. “I can stay at a hotel. Besides, who’s to say that post wasn’t something you arranged in the first ce?”

Zac’s expression instantly darkened. “Liz, I </be here out of concern and this is how you treat me? I shouldn’t have bothered.”

“Then don’t. You can leave now.”

    “Fine. Don’t regret it.”

With that, Zac turned on his heel and stormed off. The moment he reached the elevator, the sound of the door mming shut echoed behind him.

His hands curled tightly into fists at his sides, and a dangerous chill radiated from him, warning everyone to stay away.

The next morning, Liz had barely woken up when Jane showed up at her ce.

Seeing Liz safe, Jane let out a sigh of relief before snapping “Didn’t I tell you to stay at a hotelst night? Why didn’t you listen?”
