Romina shot her a look and said seriously. “I’d rather see a ghost…”
“If Jericho heard that, do you think he’de charging in with a two–meter–long sword?”
Elliana leaned against the upstairs corridor, ughing without restraint.
Romina replied calmly, “Our door isn’t two meters wide. His sword wouldn’t fit.”
Elliana couldn’t stopughing, then turned and went back to her room. “Get some rest! It’s alreadyte.”
Romina softly replied with an “Mm” and quickly went into the bathroom.
After her shower, her mood gradually calmed down.
She never imagined she’d one day get so close to Jericho’s uncle, and even less that Joaquin would offer to y along with her just to deal with Jericho.
It was actually a great opportunity.
But she couldn’t deny it–she chickened out…..
To be precise, she was a little afraid to get close to him.
She always felt this man was far moreplicated than he appeared.
The next day was the fourth day of opening. After arriving at the wellness clinic, Romina decisively posted the envelope, attracting a crowd of passersby.
Some patients also came over, shaking their heads as they read the contents of the envelope.
“So it was all a stunt?”
“Dr. Sandoval is really skilled. Don’t let yesterday’s incident scare you. Her medical expertise is among the best in Strnd.”
“I heard she’s a miracle doctor. Is that true?”
“A miracle doctor? That’s a bit much, isn’t it?”
“If you don’t believe it, go in and try for yourself…”

Romina sat at her desk, listening to their chatter, unable to suppress a smile.
It seemed her n was working after all.
Even if they weren’t here for her medical skills, she’d sessfully piqued their curiosity.
Even those who weren’t sick wanted toe in and see her.
Miguel noticed there were even more guests today than yesterday and was a bit surprised. “Romi, your trick really works! It goes straight to the patients‘ hearts!”
Romina curled her lips and suddenly broke into a smile. “Does this count as turning the tables?”
“It absolutely does!” Miguel nodded quickly. “Just like that saying goes.”
Romina looked up curiously. “Which saying?”
Miguel replied with a serious expression, “What doesn’t kill me only makes me stronger.”
As his voice fell, he gave Romina a thumbs up.
Romina tapped the desk with the hand holding her pen. “A patient just came in.”
“Alright!” Miguel quickly walked toward the front desk. “Coming…”
At that moment, Romina’s phone suddenly rang. She instinctively lowered her gaze and saw that it was Jericho’s mother, Lenora, calling.
After hesitating for a few seconds, she finally stood up and answered the call.
Lenora’s voice came through the phone. “Today is the day you’re covering Grandpa’s follow–up appoint- ment. You haven’t forgotten, have you?”
Romina’s hand holding the phone suddenly froze,
So much had happened at the wellness clinictely that she had truly forgotten about this.
Hayden was currently in the recovery stage and needed a check–up every other week.
Normally, she wasn’t obligated to do this, but during theirst meal, she had made a deal with Joaquin.
She would treat Hayden, and Joaquin would help her get back the small courtyard her grandfather had left behind.

Besides, she was genuinely concerned about Hayden’s health and felt it was her duty to do the follow-

up.

“Alright, I understand.”
Romina responded softly, nning to go over in the evening.
They didn’t talk much more, both tacitly ending the call.
Although Lenora rarely got involved in her rtionship with Jericho, Romina knew very well that among the entire Bowman family, only Hayden had truly treated her with sincerity.
She had never forgotten this kindness.
Although there were many patients today, none of the cases were serious. Taking advantage of a quiet moment in the evening, she finished work and headed to the Bowman’s mansion.
Romina had just stepped through the door when she saw two figures by the corridor.
Nadine and Jericho were sitting in the garden pavilion. The man gently brushed a few strands of her hair behind her ear.
Nadine, in turn, reached out and ced her hand on the back of his.
When their eyes met, both wore expressions full of affection.
If Romina had seen this scene three years ago, she would have gone home and cried under the covers.
She would have sobbed while cursing Jericho for being heartless and ungrateful…
But now, she had only one reaction.
Disgust.
Romina nced at Kashton, who was admiring the flowers not far away, and her expression suddenly darkened.
“Are there no rooms in this house? Doing this in front of a child!”
Romina’s voice was loud, pletely interrupting the affectionate pair.
Jericho looked up at the sound and saw Romina standing at the entrance, though he hadn’t noticed when
she arrived.
