Sad Tears 20

Suddenly, it all made sense to her.

Under Hayden’s pressure, Jericho was forced to get her back.

No wonder Jericho had called hertest night, insisting on

    seeing her today.

He had even threatened her, saying he wouldn’t sign the divorce papers unless she showed up to see him.

Without waiting for her reply, Jericho bent down slightly and

    carried her on his shoulder.

Losing bnce, she instinctively clutched at the back of his suit

    jacket.

After steadying herself, she punched his back. “Jericho, let me

    down!”

Yet he ignored her and continued walking toward his car.

After opening the rear door, he immediately shoved her into

    the backseat.

Then he said to his assistant, Orion Morin, “Drive.”

    “Yes, Mr. Bowman!” Orion nodded.

Before Orion started the car, Romina reached for the handle, wanting to get out.

But Jericho firmly gripped her wrist again.

Landwin Vi was thest ce on earth she wanted to see again. It had been her marital home with Jericho, where their family of three had built years of memories.

It was at that very ce that Nadine had ruined everything she

    owned.

And now, even the mere thought of it filled her with revulsion. If possible, she’d never set foot in that ce again.

    “Let go.”

She looked up at Jericho, her gaze cial.

“Sit still. I won’t do anything to you. As long as you help me cool Grandpa off, everything else can be negotiated.””

Instead of letting go, Jericho tightened his grip on her wrist.

    She frowned in pain.

Rage swelled within her after she knew Jericho’s intentions.

In a fit of anger, she grabbed his hand and bit down on his wrist

    without hesitation.

She sank her teeth in with all her strength, releasing all her

    frustration, bitterness, and fury.

He let out a muffled groan and frowned in pain.

After releasing her wrist, he stared at his own-now branded

    with a vicious bite mark.

He could almost see blood welling.

Even his chest heaved with anger.

To him, Romina had always been so gentle and tender. She had never said anything harsh to him, let alone bite him.

“Are you out of your mind?” he spat.

“Said the man who cheated on me,” she sneered.

Utterly pissed off, he let out a derisiveugh.

Ignoring him, she sat upright and looked out of the window.

The card had already started, and she didn’t stand a chance of

    escaping.

On the way back to Landwin Vi, her mind wandered through

    countless memories.

This road was nothing but familiar to her-after all, she’d taken

it countless times, her heart always filled with anticipation for

    home.

In that vi, she had waited every day for Kashton and Jericho toe back. She had chosen to devote herself to being a wife and mother, giving up her career and all her hobbies. But they repaid her by sending her to prison.

In the blink of an eye, years had passed. As the familiar sights along the road came into her view once more, all that remained

    in her heart was destion.

    “Get out.”

    Jericho’s deep voice rang out.

She stepped out of the car without ncing at him.

As she looked up and saw the vi and courtyard she hadn’t

seen in three years, her heart sank to the bottom.

Jericho gripped her wrist once more and dragged her inside.

“Come in, and then we’ll talk.”

Romina wanted to pull her hand back, but she couldn’t. Against

    Jericho’s strength, hers was nothing.

She could only let him drag her to the living room.

It was the weekend, the maid’s scheduled day off.

They were alone in the living room.

Jericho threw her onto the sofa before settling himself across

    from her.

Then he poured himself a cup of tea.

“You’ve never given a proper reason for wanting the divorce.”

He didn’t even lift his gaze. “Now’s your chance.”
