Chapter 219 Out of mind

“Ah!” Renee jolted back to the present, her gaze shifting to her shoulder in rm, but the bite mark was not visible on her fair skin.

He hadn’t bitten her hard enough to leave a mark.

Marcelo kissed the spot he had just bitten and nced back at her, his eyes filled with desire.

“Mrs. King, you’re bluffing me, aren’t you?”

    “About what?”

After all this time, he was familiar with every inch of her body. Renee trembled slightly with arousal, and her voice became unstable.

She was finding it hard to stay on her feet.

Marcelo’s strong arms gripped her waist and lifted her against him.

    “It hurts,” she whispered.

“Hmm? You say it hurts, but you aren’t even trying to fight me. Stop lying to me,” He

    growled softly.

“I’m not deceiving you!” She bit her lip, not understanding how he could say such a thing so confidently.

“Shall we stay in the bathroom or go back to bed?” He gave her the choice.

    “Bed.”

Carrying her like a child, he let her legs wrap around his waist.

“Baby, you can’t deceive me tonight,” he said with a smoldering gaze.

“If you want me to go easy on you, call me ‘honey‘.”

Renee immediately understood what he meant by saying she couldn’t deceive him.

But calling him “honey” was utterly useless.

    It only excited him more!

When she woke up the next day, red marks were all over her fair skin.

Her neck, corbones, shoulders, waist, back…even her wrists were not spared!

No amount of clothing or concealer could cover them.

She had no option but to stay home for a few days until the marks faded.

Renee was bored. So she scrolled through her phone and stumbled upon gossip about herself in a W****** p group with hundreds of members.

“I can’t believe Marcelo and Renee booked the entire second floor of the Dove Ind Club to celebrate their marriage, and I missed it! Ahhh!”

“I knew something was fishy when he bought that jade bracelet for Renee.”

“I heard Marcelo also drank for Renee when others toasted to her. In order to protect his wife from drinking too much, he drank a lot. Is that true?”

“He was guarding her like a treasure; how could it not be true? None of my ex–boyfriends or even my current boyfriend has ever protected me like that!”

“Stop it. I’m already getting jealous!”

“And what was the deal with Vivian and Marcelo a while ago? Were they together?”

“Either Marcelo hid his affair with his mistress from his wife well, or… Vivian staged the whole thing!

    She’s so conniving.”

“Renee is so lucky! She got kicked out of the Hudson family but soonnded in the affluent King family. Mr. King is a piece of prime meat, powerful, wealthy, and handsome!”

“We can’t be like Renee. She broke off her engagement with one cousin and swiftly married another cousin; that’s something we can’t imagine doing!”

Renee nced at the sender’s name; it was Alyssa. Once Alyssa ridiculed her, others followed suit.

    Renee was surprised.

Was this the only thing Alyssa could say about her?

Alyssa was mocking her after being rebuffed at the party.

People immediately started discussing her “amazing” and “skillful” actions.

Angrily, Renee transferred arge amount of money to the group.

In a fraction of a second, Renee’s message was seen by all those people who were online.

“Damn! Missed it! Thework speed is too bad!”

“Who’s this rich person who has suddenly gifted so much money to the group? Please send some more!”

“Oh! It was sent by Ellie.*

Secondster, there was pin–drop silence in the W******p group.

    No one replied.

This group, named Bellbanks Socialites Group, was created two years ago during a gathering filled with rich, second–generation women. Back then, Renee, who was in the limelight, was added to the group, but she never participated, so everyone forgot that she was a member.

She understood that the silence meant that everyone was very embarrassed.

So, she transferred some more money.

“I didn’t invite everyone to celebrate my wedding, so here’s a little something for all of you to share in the joy,” she wrote in the message.

“Are you jealous I married Marcelo? Then so be it!” she murmured to herself.

Someone finally broke the silence in the group and came forward to say congrattions, but their eagerness to grab the money was obviously less than before.

Then Renee sent just one dor, specifically for Alyssa.

She added a message, “Miss Robbins, when are you and your fiancé getting married? I’m sending you some money separately. Wishing you a happy wedding in advance!”

Renee wanted to show her how disgusting she was.

All those who were goaded by Alyssa to speak ill about Renee kept quiet.

    *******

Renee strictly didn’t allow Marcelo to touch her for the next few days.

The marks on her body finally faded just before the live broadcast of the Peerless Grace press conference. Renee was a stylist and not the chief guest of the event. So she wore her standard white T–shirt and jeans. She didn’t want to stand out, but many people came over to greet her, intending to forge a connection

    with her.

Her poprity had been hightely. Even though, these people didn’t know about her marriage to Marcelo, after she became Light’s unprecedented darling, she garnered a lot of attention!

Plus, with Freddy’s support, the fashion resources she had at her disposal were not to be underestimated!

    Just then, there was amotion.

Catherine strutted in, wearing a tight red dress, followed by three assistants and eight bodyguards.

Her appearance created a lot of excitement.

Renee knew how Catherine got the confidence to be so arrogant and nced at her t belly.

Catherine had to be at least three months pregnant, yet she wasn’t showing.

Spotting Renee, Catherine rolled her eyes and remarked sarcastically, “The shier someone’s wedding, the uglier their divorce!”

    Renee walked toward her,

Catherine immediately stepped back warily, and two bodyguards protected her.

“See who has the upper hand today. Do you still want to attack me?” Catherine sneered.

“Violence is for the uncivilized,” Renee responded. ncing at her belly, she asked, “Catherine, are you sure you’re pregnant? Do you think you can use a child to force a marriage? Even if pregnant now; does Andrew intend to marry you? “The shier the marriage, the uglier the divorce,’ this saying suits you

    better!”

“Stop the nonsense! I’m the mother to the eldest great–grandson of the King family. Who else would he marry but me? You’ve seen all the bodyguards the King family’s provided for me, right?”

Renee just shrugged and said, “Fine, but I’d like to remind you. If he really marries you, you’ll be a member of the King family just like me, and you need to show me enough respect then.”

Catherine was boiling with anger and wanted to retort, but it was time for the live broadcast to start, and the staff ushered her to get ready.

During the broadcast, Catherine was the center of attention. Her agency had tipped off the host, so she ended up getting more screen time than Nora, the main actress.

After their segment, Renee headed backstage to rx.

She was on her phone for a bit, and when she looked up, she realized the room had emptied out without

    her noticing.

Andrew was at the door, watching her for so long.

Renee noticed him but didn’t show any interest, choosing instead to keep scrolling through her phone,

Andrew, feeling ignored once more, was angry but for some reason didn’t want tosh out.

“Renee!” he called, but then he just stood there, staring at her.

His intense look made her ufortable.

    Chapter 219 Out of mind

“Andrew, do you enjoy making people feel this way?” Renee, losing her patience, snapped. “Ever since we broke off our engagement, I haven’t even looked at you nicely. Isn’t it obvious I can’t stand you?”

“Renee, Vivian hasnded herself a top job at the King’s Group’s jewelrypany. Do you really think you and Marcelo have a chance? I’m just suggesting, considering what we had, that you might want to reconsider your options soon!”

Did Vivian be a part of the King Group?

Renee was momentarily taken aback, but she quickly realized this had nothing to do with Marcelo. There’s no way Marcelo would have Vivian join the King Group just to frustrate himself.

With Andrew showing no signs of leaving, Renee decided to walk out of the resting room.

Out of sight, out of mind.
