    The previous night, Vivian had asked Anna about Marcelo’s schedule because she wanted toe return the jacket.


    Anna had promised to notify her, and this afternoon, she called her and told her that Marcelo was free.

    “Mr. King is usually busy every day. But today, he’s free,” Anna said to her. “In fact, he’s usually very efficient, but he is oftente nowadays, so he has to get offte from work.”

    As Vivian thought of all these, a great sense of crisis rose in her heart until Marcelo’s voice pulled her back to reality. “Vivian?” When he first heard the knock and the sound of the door getting opened, Marcelo didn’t hear any voice for quite a while. But when he finally looked up, he saw Vivian standing at the door like someone in a trance.

    After finishing with these documents, he would be able to get off work for the day and go see his wife.


    He hoped she was in a better mood.


    “I brought your jacket, “Vivian exined and put a big paper bag on the table in front of him. “I even took it to be dry–cleaned.”


    When Marcelo heard this, he frowned and said, “But I told you I don’t need it.”


    Vivian broke into a smile and said, “Well, I felt you were just being polite to me? Anyway, I’ve dry–cleaned the jacket, and now, I’m returning it to you.”


    Frankly, her main purpose ofing was not to return the jacket.


    This was just an excuse for her toe and see Marcelo.


    When he didn’t say anything in response, she added, “Marcelo, another reason I came here today was to find out when you’ll be free. I want to go visit your brother.”


    “How about this weekend?”He suggested. He wasn’t free on any weekday.


    But just then, there was a knock on the door and Luke walked in.


    “Miss Lambert?” he gasped in surprise when he saw Vivian. He never expected that he would see her in Marcelo’s office.


    “Good day, Luke. Long time no see,” Vivian greeted him.

    Luke nodded in acknowledgement and turned his attention to Margelo. “Mr. King, the bodyguards said they saw Miss Curtis in Venus Bar that day.     When Marcelo heard what she said, he slowed down and asked in surprise, “Did shee just now?”


    The question was so forceful and unexpected that Anna was almost startled. But she quickly recovered herposure and nodded. “Y… yes. Yes, she did.”


    “Why didn’t shee to me directly?” Marcelo wondered aloud.


    “Um…maybe it was because she saw Miss Lamberting to see <b>you</b><b>, </b>so…” Anna suddenly trailed off. Frankly, she was just guessing. She had no concrete proof that this was the case.


    Marcelo took the offer letter from her and went straight to the elevator. As he went, he asked his bodyguards to find out Renee’s location.


    Vivian couldn’t walk fast in high heels, so by the time she came out of the office, she only saw the retreating figure of Marcelo <b>as </b>he entered the elevator.


    The only thing she could do was to stand there, looking depressed and sad.
