Chapter 145 Renee and Vivian meet
Did her reluctance to share mean ack of trust in him? Couldn’t she trust him?
After all, he was her husband, so why couldn’t she trust him?
After a moment, Marcelo set aside his unease, gently smoothing her hair. “Okay, I’ll be here anytime you’re ready to talk,” he conceded, granting her the time she requested.
Renee was deeply involved in reinvigorating the top private high–end brand STAR, which had stagnated in recent years. Her task was to inject fresh life into the brand, creating a new, eye–catching identity.
For the next several days, Renee was at the KM Group, liaising with STAR’s team.
She coborated with show directors, costume designers, and choreographers, overseeing every detail for the uing makeup styling and show. Her schedule was packed.
“Miss Hudson, you’ve received an invitation from Harvillston.” As the initial phase of the project nearedpletion, the KM Group’s liaison approached her.
Renee’s schedule had been packedtely. She left early and returnedte, barely crossing paths with Marcelo, and had almost forgotten theirck ofmunication.
She hadn’t expected to receive a direct offer from the KM Group, especially for the position of chief stylist.
“Sorry, I haven’t decided yet…”
Renee began, but the liaison interrupted with an uneasy expression.
“Miss Hudson, this offeres from the top, “He gestured upwards, indicating the president’s office.
“Take the offer for now. If you have reservations, you can discuss them directly with the president. It’s more straightforward that way.”
After a moment’s consideration, Renee agreed, not wanting to cause difficulties. “Is he avable today?” she inquired, referring to Marcelo.
The liaison confirmed with a nod.
Checking her watch,Renee noted it was only four o’clock. She decided to wait until after five to meet Marcelo.
The liaison understood and conveyed her decision to the secretary
At five, Renee ascended to the thirty–eighth floor.
Stepping out of the elevator, she was surprised to see Vivian seated in the reception area.
“Miss Hudson, what a coincidence,” Vivian greeted with a smile. “I’ve seen your photos but haven’t met you in person. You are Renee Hudson, aren’t you?”
“Yes, Miss Lambert, “Renee responded politely, though she had no desire to engage with Vivian.
It struck Renee as a peculiar coincidence.
She rarely visited Marcelo at the KM Group, yet today, when she had something to discuss with him, she encountered Vivian.
“Miss Hudson, you recognize me?” Vivian face lit up. “Did Elo mention me? Show you my picture?”
“Elo?“Renee echoed, puzzled.
“Ah, that’s my nickname for Marcelo from when we were kids.”
“Oh.“Renee’s response was cool. “No, he hasn’t mentioned you or shown me any pictures.”
Chapter 145 Renée and Vivian meet
Vivian’s smile faltered briefly, her eyes catching Renee’s nce at the
paper bag beside her.
Inside was a ck jacket.
“I’m returning Elo’s jacket; I borrowed it once. I didn’t expect to run into you here.” Vivian then queried, “And you, Miss Hudson, why are you here?”
Her words, seemingly innocent, implied a certain familiarity with Marcelo, almost as if she were Mrs. King.
“I need to discuss something with Mr. King, “Renee replied.
Just then, Anna appeared, heels clicking. “Miss Lambert, Mr. King will see you now. Miss Hudson, when did you arrive?” Anna’s eyes widened in surprise upon seeing Renee, then darted to Vivian, betraying the oddity of their simultaneous presence.
“I just arrived, “Renee replied.
Seeing Vivian about to meet Marcelo, Renee decided against going in.
She anticipated the tension that would arise from her presence and worried it might provoke her into an outburst, leading to an awkward situation for everyone.
Handing the Harvillston offer to Anna,Renee said, “Please give this to Marcelo. I’ve decided not to ept it. If yourpany isn’t keen on taking it back, I might have to discard it.”
Renee felt hesitant about epting the chief stylist position at Harvillston.
In that moment, she made up her mind to decline the offer.
Initially, joining KM Group as a co–stylist and aiming for Harvillston had been part of her n, given its reputation and international prospects.
But epting the position would mean her career being closely linked with Marcelo’s.
Her decision might have been different if not for recent developments.
Vivian’s sudden return, her meeting with Marcelo at the bar, and her presence at Marcelo’s office were rming.
These revtions jolted Renee back to reality.
After Anna took the offer letter, Renee bid her farewell and left.
As Vivian watched Renee, she couldn’t help but get lost in thought.
But she quickly recovered herself and rushed to catch up with Anna As they approached the CEO’s office, she spoke up. “Anna, since Marcelo is so busy, maybe I’ll have toe another day.”
Anna was from a rich family and had graduated from a well renowned university. She had known Vivian for over ten years now.
Vivian had thought that Anna would only be in Marcelo’s employ for a few years, just to build up her resume.
She never expected that Anna would remain as Marcelo’s secretary even till now.
It was very surprising to her, but it didn’t stop her from maintaining a good rtionship with Anna.
